Not surprised, if they are still operating B737-200s!

MAN flights are via VIE nowadays, so I assume LGW would go that way too

Wasn't Iraqi supposed to receive 787's this year? Also why doesn't Iraqi use their 767s, 747, A330 or 777 to Europe? Too much capacity? I also find it funny listing all those in singular as Iraqi actually just operates on of each, save their two 767's.

A carrier that operates a fewer amount of each sub-type than TG!

Not via vie any more... Rumors have it that after a safety inspection amongst a few other things the pilot had no valid 738 typerating... So they changed to MMX, where they now got banned...

The link suggest this to be based on a EASA assessment, so would Austria be viable still?

They were flying their own new 738s, last Sunday was the only exception as far as I know.

If EASA are not going to issue an TCO authorization for IA, then the routing doesn't matter as they won't be allowed to operate into Europe.
If they also end up on the EU banned carriers list, in order to continue their operations, they'll need to wet-lease some aircraft.

Yesterday's MAN service operated EBL-MMX and MMX-EBL with YI-ASQ, and VVB Malta operated the MMX-MAN-MMX portion. It looks like they did the same on Sunday for the LGW flight.

One 747 is only for government use.

I doubt they are going to dedicate a 400 plus seat aircraft exclusively to that, they did make a 738 all J class with 75 seats for the purpose, and govt. can use A330 and 777 for long hauls, infact the 777 was used for New York UN meeting with the 738 in tow as well.

Three points from the article;

1. How can they into MAN but not out.

2. Does that mean their B737 is stranded at MAN.

3. How is it the UK General Manager is to busy to comment. Potential customers will just assume the worst.
