Company Jet Designation
Oftentimes when listening to channel 9 on UA, I will hear the tower tell our aircraft to "follow the company 737" or some other aircraft type. What is a "company jet?"

An airplane operated by the same company as the one the tower is communicating to (ie another United plane, in this case)

same company as the one ATC is talking to.
If you are on a UA flight and a controller tells that pilot to follow a company they mean the *same* company, in this case United.

It simply means another aircraft in "your" (a given flight crew's) company's colors. I.e., instead of saying "United 123 follow the United 737-900," they'll simply say "United 123 follow your company jet."
