I have a question for some of you that have so much knowledge of the aircraft production process. When an airline take delivery who delivers the plane? Does Boeing fly the aircraft to DEL or do AI crews do it? Same question for AA or any other customer.

Most (99.9%+) of the Boeing customers have their own crews fly the airplane home. Before 1990 Boeing would provide crews for delivery of all mainland China airlines because of the threat of confiscation of the airplanes due to claims against the Chinese government. Boeing would also provide navigators to support customer crews crossing the Pacific with 737's -- and may still. Boeing training pilots would go with the customer pilots if more training or line assist was required, but I believe that dried up several years ago.

Thanks for the info. Would love to hear some of the stories from Boeing crews that did trans pacific deliveries.

Quietly in the August O&D update from Boeing, 8x GE-powered 789s listed as Unidentified have been converted to 8x [no-engine] 7810s listed as Unidentified.

Let the speculation begin...

I have the 53 previously yet to be delivered GE-powered Unidentified 789s as belonging to: (21) Hainan, (15) China Eastern, (10) Saudi Ministry of Finance, (5) Juneyao and (2) Unknown.

Could these be Hainan swaps for part of their order? Or the Saudis?

Given the date of the order, its more than likely the Saudi Ministry of Finance. It was mentioned some time ago that Saudia was getting -10s.

Safe to assume the USAF is bugging out the C-17's based at CHS as well.

It makes sense that the conversion to 787-10s would be Saudia. They have an epic amount of high-volume regional service and seem like the perfect candidate for the airplane.

Looking at Uresh's recent firing order update, there are an awful lot of 787-10s. I'm thinking we could see additional conversions and/or new 787-10 orders soon.

I think this is the first 787-10 to ever land at PAE, unless it has done so previously.

Looks on schedule for delivery by the end of this month. Delivery of the final early-build frame will be the end of a nearly decade-long story that academics and business students will be looking at for decades. Now following the 787 will be more like following a normal airliner program.

Can't believe how ugly it looks like. I am a big fan of BA's livery, specially in a 747, but the size of the blue engines, and the massive stripe with bird's nose simply doesnt work. Over-make-up on a fatty pig.

"Fatty pig".....You go too far sir! While I`d agree the B787-8 is not as nicely proportioned as the -9,
& the -10 will look the best ( in BA colours at least ) how cold you call such a nice looking aircraft in
such terms. More airlines should go with the darker engines too, EL AL an example on their -9`s, but
they had a change of heart at the end. The BA livery is an "oldie but a goodie".

Cause that livery doesn't look good to my eyes. Others, instead, look fantastic in the Dreamliner, but this one makes the bird look fat.

Sorry for having an opinion.

Seriously the BA livery on 788 is fine. It's a little bit doughty / old fashioned, but that's what goes over well in Brexit-land, much as BA found out after they took incoming fire due to the 'world tails' experiment.

Overall, it's fine. Hope they buy dozens more.
