Looks like another AC 787 reg wrong? Next one now showing on official docs as C-FGHZ not C-FHHZ as reported by Uresh and elsewhere. Will have to see when once it gets painted.

Line 12 finally flies. Only took about six years after rolling out of assembly the first time.

Matt Cawby tweeted that LN 12 (ZD004, Ethiopian 787-8) will fly to VCV for paint today. They will need to get the job done faster than they did with Air Austral's LN 22 if they want to make the target delivery date.

The fact that the airplane completed it's B-1 flight and is flying to VCV today is a good sign. Even if it's in paint for two weeks it will be back in plenty of time to complete anymore required flights (FAA?) and deliver by mid-June or sooner.

So thanks for posting these pics.

It is hard to get a good picture at the site in SC the way everything is positioned.

I'm not a fan of it but I guess it is better than the LATAM livery, not by much though...

Looks very old-school communist. The tail logo looks great and I wish they'd redesign the rest of the livery around it.

Look at the positive side of it: It's maybe the largest airline to have its whole fleet in a vintage livery version. If they were to modernize it, I bet that there would be many calls for Air China to bring this livery back on a special "vintage livery edition".

Boeing should be delivering the 300th 787-8 tomorrow. It'll be LN 22 (ironic that it's an early build 787 being the300th 787-8 delivered) to Air Austral.

that's sort of poetic. Hopefully a terrible teen will be the 400th and 500th deliveries too (please god have them all out the door by the 500th delivery!).

Réunion news says a high-level Air Austral group has traveled to Seattle to take delivery of a 787, so if it's not today it ought to be Real Soon Now.

(French only; sorry.) http://www.linfo.re/la-reunion/socie...-boeing-787-8-bientot-a-la-reunion

The article also says that the aircraft will be flying in service on RUN-DZA starting at the end of the month, and that the second aircraft, LN 15, will arrive in October (earlier articles said January 2017).

I would expect the Chinese government to allow Air China to milk their status as sole operator of the 789 for a few weeks (like it did with the first China Southern 788). Expect a Hainan delivery mid-June.

Wow. Check out those grey velour cloth seats!  Wow! I had something virtually identical in my 1986 Vauxhall Astra from 30 years ago.

Air China : outdated product, outdated livery. Why would anyone pay money to fly in that dated cabin when there are so many competitors with very plush cabins all for same money, give or take a few £.

Looks like something from an old knackered 1970s 747.

Care to elaborate about the "outdated" cabin? The product on CA's new 787 is among its best so far. Seat covers are new and neutral and rolled across the fleet. Panasonic AVOD in all seats (no entertainment boxes), 32 inch seat pitch in Y, lie flat in Business (same as what AA and QR have) and full mood lighting. Perhaps we can argue any airline with black business class leather seats are a throwback to cars and horse drawn carts built prior to the 1800s.

Like a customer is going to choose an airline based on its outside colour.

A couple of "teen" movements reported:

1) LN 13 for Ethiopian (ZD005) has come out of 40-24 with engines on and rework substantially complete and is now sitting on the 40-51 ramp. Expect to see it move to the fuel dock for initial tests within a couple of weeks.

2) LN 15 for Air Austral (ZD001) moved from inside the EMC to 40-24 to finish up rework. Nothing has moved inside the EMC to replace it and I expect the EMC is now totally devoted to KC-46A rework.

Crystal's LN 17 and Ethiopian's LN 16 remain inside 45-12. Ethiopian's LN 18 and LN 10, and BBJ LN 5, remain outside the EMC in the early stages of rework.

1) LN 13 for Ethiopian (ZD005) has come out of 40-24 with engines on and rework substantially complete and is now sitting on the 40-51 ramp. Expect to see it move to the fuel dock for initial tests within a couple of weeks.
