How did you find the A350 (as compared to QR's 787s, NZ's 787 and various A380s)?
A350 is comfy enough. Generic twin with little in identification or character from inside but definitely superior to a 787-8 in 9 abreast, however the 333 was better seat. One of the two flights was changed to a QR
77W which I found equal most comfortable of the widebodies I flew alongside the EK
A380.. One thing is definite. The older and thicker seats and original design parameters are more comfortable than the new ones. Fancy IFE aside Y class is losing the battle against airlines cost cutting. seat comfort and space.
Just a quick comparison of this trip
/NZ/TK 777 9 abreast/ NH
788 8 abreast (for context)
744 width is great, pitch is at tight end but ok comfortwise because of seat design
333 (2-4-2 always wins config wise and seat design good )
A350 (flash PTV but generic hybrid between A380 and A330 in comfort)
763 (for context)
77W (for context)
788 (seatbase softer and better than park bench on 789 - managed to last 15h NRT
). Narrow seat
763 (seat pitch not great)
789 (for context) (park bench skycouch makes your bum go numb after SYD
kind of distance)
/SK 738 (Missed out on last LA
788 to AKL
delay from SIN
). seat pitch was tight but seat comfy.
It should be noted each flight on widebody this trip had noone sat next to me if not free row) so that affects perspective. QF
wins for most genuine and relaxed crew. NZ
catching in this regard on evidence of 6 longhauls on NZ
this year. QR
is unpolished and has a rubbish lounge in DOH
inconsistent but generous. ET
is unpolished and inconstent but they get pass marks.too.
