So will IST pass Frankfurt this year to become #3 in Europe?

I think so...

Let's not forget: TK did not only start MIA but also split CPT JNB flights...

That is a very nice product in J, probably better than what TK is offering on the B77W on that route.

Great news but why make both flights less than daily? People do not like non-daily flights do they? Why not 7+4 but instead 6+5?

I was expecting AC to do this and happy to see of course. Another great news is AC's 787's have Premium Economy cabin so TK scrapping Comfort Class (that was available on IST YYZ) and AC putting it as of May 1st is good news for those who wants a little bit more comfort at a modest price. This also marks a capacity increase slightly, hope more will follow...

TK's bid for IST YVR is still on the table in Ottawa, let's hope it materializes...

Desire was actually to balance both flights so it would be 5+5 or 6+6 to maximize connectivity flows as you'll note key LAX connection markets like Iran go on TK10 outbound and return on TK13, but 11 frequencies was all they could squeeze out of the fleet for next summer.

I'm sure come 2017 they can run 2x daily.

I don't see it as a big deal. TK is not a LH or LX with high component of premium flyers demanding certain schedules. Most traffic is leisure and VFR.

Change is good as current 763 product is appalling.
I flew AC in May oneway IST-YYZ in old tired aircraft, small overhead bins, old seat product, poor IFE and terrible food.

Though I am not sure the 787 will be that much better for econ pax. AC doing that tight 3-3-3 config, and certainly things like food are still not going to change.

You are right of course but I will take that 1-2-1 J-configuration over the 2-3-2 of the TK B77W, not to mention the TK cabin temperature, which is perennially too hot for me. I flew CGK IST EZE and it must have been near 30C on that daylight IST GRU sector. The crews seem to enjoy that kind of temperature.

11 x weekly, could this be done with 4 frames?
How about 2 x daily, does that mean 5 frames?
Maybe someone with more knowledge could chime in. Thanks.

I would think virtually all travelers would be happy with expanded LAX schedule. They now have a choice in time, which they don't currently have with single flight.

Customers can mix/match times to suit their taste best.

Is TK not getting a new premium product also? I though it was mentioned a few months back here.

http://www.airporthaber.com/thy-habe...york-seferi-3-ucak-degistirdi.html

Today TK3 had to sort through three planes before taking off! The first aircraft suffered a technical issue and so did its replacement aircraft, only taking off after the second replacement came.

I'm surprised that they were able to take off with 'only' a two hour delay, given they were only able to take-off after the third aircraft came. Wouldn't that be considered fast?

Anyone have more information about this? I've read about these flights for a while now but still haven't seen anything official.

Link claims flights to Mauritius will start on Dec 15th and then mentions ambiguously that flights will also be made to Antananarivo.

Hope all is well, back in NY after a busy 3 weeks in IST and Europe. Wrote about my not so pleasant JFK-IST flight, crazy purser IST-CPH flight and amazing CPH-IST flights. I guess its my luck that TK 11 on Tuesday had a full J cabin and 1 inoperative seat that belonged to yours truly  Crew was good, they tried to help and manually fix the seat but didn't work for some reason. about 5-6 hours in to the flight as I am into my 2nd bottle of red wine the purser said she is really sorry about the issue and mentioned it to a male FA who happens to know the seat better and wanted to give it another try, I got up and he wrestled the seat into sleeping position and I slept the last 3 hours of the flight. They woke me up and put the seat back in landing position prior to landing and apologized for the inconvenience. I used hard earned miles for this upgrade and I will email them for a refund of some sorts lets see what happens.

In another note, I noticed couple of changes for the better in J menu, food was less oily and felt healthier which is good because was getting bad for few months.
By the way that retro A330 looks amazing congrats to TK, very meaningful name as well.
Happy flying to all...

Does it make any difference? They wouldn't do this on the first place if they feared consequences.

Anyway some FA's just want to argue with the customer who pay their salaries. I understand snob, unreal requests but all I want is a non sauna cabin.

But still, some FAs are doing it. If there was a company policy "fire an FA if he/she is caught twice with too high temp", nobody would risk it.

IIRC, it is on the left side on the plane by the door (I think #2) where FA's sit during takeoff/landing, just above their head. It is the same panel where they control the cabin lighting and announcements.
