Quoting seansasLCY (Reply 3): Will this be in addition to the 737 operating the NYC route (and previously the SVG-IAH route)? |
Quoting Someone83 (Reply 4): 737 on CPH-EWR is only in the winter season. When CPH-BOS starts the 737 is transfered to this route while SK901/902, the evening CPH-EWR flight, goes to A330/A340 as planned |
Quoting clydenairways (Reply 9): Could this possibly be that SK had contracted the Privatair 737 for a number of years and now has to find another use for it, after it's intended route got axed? |
Quoting invaders (Thread starter): According to several sources, SAS will commence operations from CPH to BOS 26th march 2016. The service will be daily. |
Quoting VS4ever (Reply 11): 2 month head start on DY and Daily.... very smart move by SK. |
Quoting airbazar (Reply 15): I don't think these 2 services share the same customer base. The Privatair flight is an all J service while DY is a LCC. They couldn't be further apart |

Quoting AirlineCritic (Reply 19): Hmm. Maybe. I'm a bit sceptical, particularly if this is for damage limitation. 86 passengers is not a lot, but you still have a full crew. I don't doubt that there are customers, but I doubt ultimate profitability of this route. Now, if it were run by DY or similar on narrow bodies, with a lower cost level... maybe I'd be more positive. |

Quoting ChrisNH (Reply 21): So their bet is that what failed in Houston will work in Boston, and I think with it being a shorter flight, a smaller plane, and with Boston being a more 'diversified' market, it might work. No one should look for any bargain fares, though. |
Quoting clrd4t8koff (Reply 24): But I also wonder if due to their schedule they're looking to operate, if the 737 was the only size aircraft they could use due to gate constraints @ BOS for a 3:20pm arrival? |
Quoting Someone83 (Reply 25): They use the 737 because that is the only aircraft they have available. Alle their A330/A340 capacity is fully utilized next summer |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 26): Sorry to go a bit off-topic. What aircraft has SK ordered to replace their A340s and A330s? Are they planning for a split A330NEO and A350 future widebody fleet? |

Quoting ZealandFlyer (Reply 28): What I fail to see is what SK´s future expansion can lie in - in my POV SK simpely hasn´t got the planes ((8 A359s), 4 A333-242ts (2 are to be delivered) & 4 233ts and 8 A343s) for a future expansion. With a current LH fleet of 14 airliners, from where 8 are quads, my bet is that SK is going to have to order some new airplanes some time in the future. |
