Air Europa To Bogotá (BOG) On B787

Mon Oct 19, 2015 5:11 pm

Air Eruopa announced earlier this year that they planned to launch flights to Colombia when their B787s arrived. This was confirmed earlier the week when they opened the flights for booking online and now Airline Route has announced the new flight on their webpage.

The flights will be daily on B787-8 starting June 27.

UX021 MAD15:00 – 18:00BOG 788 D
UX022 BOG20:00 – 12:25+1MAD 788 D

Now all three main alliances are present on the Bogota-Madrid route, AV (Star), IB (One World) and now UX (SkyTeam), accumulating over 31 weekly frequencies.

Could MAD & BOG be a new JFK & LHR?

Good news for MAD BOG and for UX, I'm always happy to see Spanish airlines going forward, the schedule is similar to the ones for CCS, HAV, SDQ, MIA, and other UX transatlantic flights, so I'm sure it's good for connecting pax.
What could be next destination for UX?? Could they try non stop to SCL?? return to Ecuador?? MEX, having Aeromexico could be a good choice if they collaborate.

Still a bit far in number of pax and daily flights, what's the biggest market now out of MAD (number of flights, long haul)?? GRU, JFK, EZE, BOG??

Colombia to MAD seems to be working good for the airlines.

Will be interesting to see how UX holds out in the coming months. According to reports they are in trouble with the law.

UX is consolidating their services in these stations.
All the mentioned airports disregarding CCS have daily services to Madrid on Air Europa.

They've just had an ERJ painted in a new scheme at EMA according to Skyliner so we won't be seeing their Dreamliner in the current livery.

Googled it. Looks rather boring in my opinion...

EDIT: Strangely that picture seems to be from April already and shows a different registration than the one mentioned by Skyliner - so possibly this is not the new c/s?!

The tried SCL via some secondary Brazilian airport. The A332 was not able to fly to SCL and back nonstop profitably. Who knows if they will attempt a return once they have more 788s.

With respect to MEX, they used to place their code on AM's MEX-MAD service, and AM used to place its code on UX' MAD-CUN service. Perhaps an increase of frequencies to CUN could happen some time?
Upcoming flights:
April/May: AM MEX-SCL 788 (J), AM EZE-MEX 789 (J).

Yes, they did via Salvador, SSA, but that was a bad choice, having 2-3 daily departures to SCL non-stop plus multiple one stop, that stop in Brasil was not a good idea.

MAD-SCL is oneworld stronghold right now.

However SCL got some attention lately from Skyteam, and MAD with UX is the perfect place to offer more flights, KL has been rumoured to go non-stop, currently via EZE, I think AF is performing good in the route, so for UX could work having nice feed from Europe and a good O&D mix. Pax from Italy, France, Switzerland can connect via MAD very comfortably, no backtracking like via AMS-CDG

So those numbers are O&D figures that include non-stop and multi-stop flights?

Those figures include passengers flying between Madrid and the destination. For example, a passenger flying NCE-MAD-JFK is included as well as someone flying MAD-JFK.

12) CUN................245,713

Interesting numbers, I am surprise to see HAV so high but apparently the return by IB is doing good, CUN number is very big but many of that ones are in the all included packages, so no big yields.
Impressive also DXB number, very big number and that pie is all for EK, we will see now with the arrival of EY.

I though SCL was up in the list but I see many more destinations highe in the list.

Some more interesting?
-TLV................... 233.177
-DOH..................222.002
-CCS..................168.551
-MVD..................138.869
-GIG...................126.897
-PTY..................126.537
-VVI...................123.640
-UIO...................110.662
-GYE..................91.882
-CLO..................70.747

Here is a link with cargo number also, interesting numbers with DXB in number one spot, very high also GRU, MEX and DOH.
