Which Airline Offers Playing Cards?
Ever since I've been flying, I've been collecting playing cards from different airlines as a souvenir and reminder. But recently on CX, I've been told that they've stopped distributing complimentary playing cards. I was just wondering which airlines give them out for free? So far I have 3 versions of the CX playing cards, the boring KA, CA, EK, LH, AY, SQ, BR. The airlines that I know don't give them for free out include LX, BA, TK.

I did not even know this was still done. I thought you could only play solitaire on the IFE screen.

I think SQ still does...
The only airline playing cards I have are ones I got from Delta Express when flying ALB-MCO back in 2000...but I think I paid for them.

The last cards I got were from DL also, I think NRT - PDX. I don't think I have them anymore. I have asked on several carriers, but I've not seen them in years.

A family member flew DEN-NRT back when UA just received their 787s, and they distributed complimentary playing cards. The cards have a picture of the UA 788 on them, and the back of the box says "The first North American airline to fly the Boeing 787". A nice souvenir

I flew AKL-SYD on CI in 2014 and they gave me a deck of cards as being a SkyTeam Elite Plus member. Very nice touch. The lead FA came back to coach, gave me that and a breezeway pass (expidited customs @ SYD).

I can't think of the last time I saw anybody playing actual cards on a plane, if they did it was through an app or program on an electronic device.
But I recall SQ did last time I flew with them and the reverse side featured a promotion for KrisFlyer

Delta still has playing cards but they're generally only available in the "Care While Waiting" carts that come out during delays and occasionally on longhaul flights.

It's not playing cards, but I do have a game of KLM quartet here at home. Don't know if it was ever given out by KL itself or just made by someone. It's rather old, because one of the sets is called "fleet" and contains the cards "Boeing 747", "Douglas DC-8", "Douglas DC-9" and "Douglas DC-10". Out of those, only the 747 is still in service as a type. However, the picture on that card shows a 747-200 wich is no longer in service.
If I remember right, FR does have a game of playing cards in their assortment wich they sell on their flights (nothing comes free from FR). Not sure about it tough.

I have quite a few sets from Icelandair, they even come in 2 sizes (1 small for children and 1 regular). Not sure if they still give them out. The children ones have a superhero on the back with the Icelandair logo on it's suit while the regular ones just have the regular FI logo, white letters and the logo on a dark blue background.

Back in 2009, I got a small deck of playing cards in a DL snack box. Haven't seen them in those since, though.

SQ definitely, the design varies, I have loads of packs advertising the new A330s. Thai still do them as well.

I remember getting given a pack of BA branded playing cards in the early 1990s. Landor style, obviously. This would almost certainly between London and LA in Club World.

I have a deck of TWA branded cards, still sealed by "U.S. Playing Card Company" which bears a 727-200 (I think) on the box. I must have gotten them along the way as I flew TWA a good bit, but only found them about a year ago.

I have a pack of Air Mauritius playing cards, but I think I got them in 1999...
I've also got a Lufthansa kids puzzle game, it's difficult to describe it, you move the small squares about to create a picture. It's from the mid 1980s, I think 1984.

Got some on my Silk Air flight a couple months back as a thank you for filling out their feedback form. Uou can request them if you want at any time too.
On my MH flight I was again selected to give feedback and was given 5 packs of peanuts as a thank you with a cabin crew very intent on getting me drunk - they must have come back and proactively topped up my wine, eventually leaving the half bottle with me!

I got the same sort of game from LH, around 1987. It was not easy to solve.
As for playing cards, like others here, I wouldn't even think to ask anymore.

I have a set from Thai Airways, featuring a 380 on the front (or would that be the back?) side. I got them (on the 380) shortly after the began those flights; I don't know if they still have them.

Well, never heard about playing cards given for free but a session of Poker game at FL390 with another bored travellers sounds interesting,,,

I flew FRA-INN in 2012 on OS and I remember that they gave out playing cards.

On a Southwest flight in 2008 we had to enter a hold for a little while due to weather. The cabin crew handed out Southwest branded playing cards. I've probably still got them somewhere...

you should look on EBay .. LOTS of airline playing cards (as well as other things) .. be careful though - sometimes the offer is for a single card - not the entire pack of cards .. but I've found a lot of neat airline stuff on EBay ..
