EVA Air ( BR ) New Livery Leaked

Thu Oct 22, 2015 10:14 pm

Thanks to Woody's Aeroimages for posting this on SkyscraperCity

(Source: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=127997094&postcount=2206)

First plane to wear the livery will be B-16725
Can't really tell whether the design is pretty or not
By shifting the aerodynamic line upwards and changing the color scheme to a blue or red one
The livery will look just like the Boeing livery.

Will be "looking forward" to B-16725 coming out from the paint shop...

On the other hand,
let's take a moment to appreciate its competitor's livery
sorry EVA fans
China Airlines really has a much more elegant livery

Great. Another livery that wasn't broken gets "fixed." At least they're keeping the green...

Not so much a new livery, as a couple of tweaks to the existing livery, isn't it?

Is the bottom half black or really dark green? Interesting either way and thankfully it's not all white.

I find it interesting how many A.netters bash Eurowhite regardless of the design. I personally don't care about how much white there is. What I treasure is good design...and I don't see that in the new BR livery.

Do you think MU or AY or even JL have great designs? The trend of eurowhite and airline titles is what some carriers are gravitating toward. Those liveries are uninspiring. Hence the dislike for eurowhite. If the base color was black or gray I'm sure there would be similar backlash.

Are GA and CI examples of Eurowhite? If yes, are they not "inspiring" and "attractive"? What about HA, and so many other airlines around the world? Virgin Australia has an amazing livery, yet it has more white than the majority of liveries worldwide. The issue is not Eurowhite itself, it is the design. One cannot blame bad design on Eurowhite.

As long as they don't repaint the Sanrio planes. We already lost Wunala Dreaming, we won't lose these too.

I think it will look fresh and modern, while staying true to its brand and former (current) livery. I'm interested in how the white on the fuselage will look like, as it's a 'white mica' (more of a pearl gloss).

I think I like this!
EVA starts off operation years ago with an almost white fuselarge color scheme, the current version is their second attempt, with all their effort to expand their brand name recognition, not to mention all the upgrades in service and product, the time has come to change their livery. This one looks great!
So, when will the first plane out? Any idea?
I am sure tons of spotter in Taiwan will be crowding the CKS airport for this shot!

All of which make me dizzy and ruin the livery in my opinion. It makes it clownish. The major/latest screw up being the KLM swirl at the nose that makes the aicraft look idiot dolphins high on something.

This livery looks nice. I find the dark green color at the bottom end of the plane too dark but that may be the image shown here.

The dislike for Eurowhite is a purely American phenomenon. Europeans think it is elegant.
White planes with a beautiful logo are just fine. Certainly better than an eyesore like Southwest.

Had the American carriers adopted Ameriwhite as their main look - then our US friends here would be
ecstatic about the beauty and elegance of the color scheme......

How very dull. Much the same as KLM's "inspired" livery change - add a swoosh and suddenly everyone is supposed to come running back from competitors. Poor. Very poor.

No one has commented yet on the trend to 'oversize' the tail logo and 'cut' it as a result...

I like the new EVA livery. Let's hope that the rumoured new Cathay Pacific livery is a similar minimal-change livery from another established classic and much respected livery!

Cheers,

Well EVA has had that since they started operations in the early 1990s. The tail of this livery appears identical to the current livery with the exception of the removal of the orange strip on the trailing edge. That trend hit its peak about 10 years ago and has somewhat died down however.

I am not sure where livery designers got the idea that taking a straight line and making it curvy makes it more modern or better.

The Globe on the tail throws it off. Lets try some nice elegant logo vs cut the edge off a stock globe.

I like it. I think the swoosh on the underbelly should be green with a red accent, but given some of the travesties we've seen lately, this is quite nice, easily recognized, and attractive.

The globe on the tail is the logo of EVA's parent company Evergreen Group (a originally a containerized shipping company, no relation to the recently shut down US-based Evergreen International Airlines), and has always been on the tail of EVA's planes.

Horrible looking livery changes...

Nothing about their current livery really needs fixing and their first few 77Ws with the '777-300ER' ribbon looked absolutely awesome IMHO.

Not as bad as it looked in the drawing. I think the logo on the tail needs to be bigger, the engines should be painted, and maybe the Chinese titles farther down the fuselage. There's just a little too much white along the top half of the fuselage.

I know that English is the language of aviation, but if you're a Taiwanese carrier you should have Chinese titles on the fuselage.
