Looks like another engine failure, with lots of smoke, like BA at LAS.

The Dynamic flight was a regularly scheduled 762 passenger flight to CCS. They began the route this summer.

Looks like a lot of damage to the wing and to where the wing connects to the fuselage. I believe the aircraft involved is N251MY, an almost 30 year old 767-200ER.

Looks like he was taxiing to runway 28R (a friend said they are on westerly operations today). Those folks are real lucky this happened on a taxiway at nowhere near takeoff power...

I saw this on CNN before coming here. They said it was just like the BA 777 fire at LAS, so it must be true.

CNN reports the aircraft had a fuel leak on by the left engine. From video looks like a United 737 is stuck on a taxiway, unable to move forward towards a terminal until the emergency equipment/767 is moved (I know there are bigger issues- just wonder how long it will take for the UA passengers).

has anyone found the selfies yet?

This aircraft has had an interesting history. It started life with Kuwait Airways, one of three delivered to the airline; neither of the other two survived the Iraqi invasion and were flown to BGW and later destroyed in bombing raids.

9K-AIA went on to have several operators and since one 767 didn't make much sense, it was leased to several other carriers, including Egyptair, Qatar and Polynesian.

More recently, it served for five years with now defunct luxury carrier Maxjet and joined Dynamic Air only last month.

Typical CNN reporting that it was on the runway, instead of on a taxiway!

4 exits used, L+R1, the over right overwing, and R2 door. Fire occurred near concourse C (SWA), passengers look to have been moved to concourse C.

Fire is extinguished, so now looks like personal are accessing the aircraft to begin investigation and other activities.

Update:

Two fire trucks just sprayed a white foam underneath the right wing of the aircraft, even though there is no smoke from any point of the aircraft. Is that just to soak up fuel?

Also the mobile command post for broward county fire arrived and is being set up.

I apologize if I'm wrong. I think it comes to this plane: Dynamic Airways´ Boeing 767-269(ER), MSN 23280, LN131, reg. N251MY, powered by twin . JT9D-7R4E4 engines. It first flew on 30. Jan 1986...

Nice regards

More than likely to coat it as opposed to soaking it up. For that there is special material that is granular and booms that you use.

Dynamic is a shady charter operator. They do charters mainly to Guyana, and FLL-CCS. They were invloved in the EZJet Guyana scandal as well as accused of operating cabotage flights in Brazil. They are the some of the same people who ran Pace and Hooters Air.

Is that engine cowling, or flaps and ailerons? There's definitely a lot of material flapping in the stream of the fire hoses, isn't there?

That looks like the remains of the lower closeout panels, aft of the spar, forward of the flaps. IIRC, they are made of fiberglass epoxy and don't hold up well to heat of this magnitude.

I believe they also have some Asian operations as they are currently hiring bilingual flight attendants who speak Cantonese/ Mandarin. This is the description from their job hiring website.

Dynamic International Airways LLC is a US Certificated FAR PART 121 AIR CARRIER providing safe, affordable, long haul, point-to-point air service. Airline is headquartered in Greensboro, NC and offers service from airports in New York, Guyana, Florida, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Palau with its fleet of B767 wide body aircrafts. Recently company has added œInternational in its official name as reflection of its transition into international long haul carrier.

I am trying to decide if this is good marketing for the airline considering prior to this incident no one would be able to name this airline. Obviously bad press, but at least There are no fatalities and people now know that this airline exits and provides service to Venezuela.

I live in South FL and was watching the local coverage of the fire. Depending on the station I was watching, 10-15 people were taken to local hospitals for smoke inhalation and injuries associated with the evacuation. None of the stations mentioned any serious injuries.

I found it ironic that when the local TV stations went to commercial, the commercials were for injury lawyers.

Surprised no one had heard of them as they do have 7 767s (http://av-info.faa.gov/detail.asp?DSGN_CODE=2DYA&OPER_FAR=121&OPER_NAME=DYNAMIC+INTERNATIONAL+AIRWAYS+LLC) THe only reason I am familiar with them is because I have been doing some research of US 767 operators for some things at work, .

FLL has a ton of potential alternates that could handle a 787. If you're trying to say something specific as to Norwegian's ops, MCO would be their closest station. I'm not familiar with who handles them and that handler's presence at closer possible airports.

It looks like it may be a while longer before the airport can open due to the fire fighting equipment all being deployed. Currently the airport is closed until 6pm. A few planes are holding. There's been a UA 757 IAH-FLL that has been holding over an hour, but if they don't open up until after 6pm as is currently indicated, the planes holding will eventually divert.

Lots of diversions. MCO is picking up most the diversions, but PBI, MIA and TPA all have had some diversions.
