Good news for MIA - the airport became the second globally, and the first in the Americas, to achieve CEIV pharma certification.

Drove by FLL today and I was amazed but not surprised at the number of corporate/private jets in town for the Fort Lauderdale
International Boat Show. I imagine Fort Lauderdale Executive is also seeing a large of jets.

American Airlines exec: ‘We’re very bullish on future scheduled service with Cuba’

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/biz-monday/article43562502.html

AA's VP-regulatory affairs did a Q&A with the Miami Herald about potential future opportunities for AA in Cuba.

Among the interesting highlights from the interview:

* Unsurprisingly, AA has already seen an increase in demand since some of the travel restrictions were lifted in December, and that demand will further increase "as the Obama administration brings down more and more prohibitions on doing business and traveling to Cuba and interacting with Cuba"

* AA believes/perceives the negotiations between the two governments on commercial air service are "fairly far along"

* AA is "highly optimistic that [it] will be serving Cuba with scheduled service next year sometime," and he says he is "personally optimistic" that it will be in 1H16

* The company expects the passenger mix on Cuba flights to change from primarily VFR to "a really good mix" of VFR and corporate travel

* Finally, he says that Cuba is "really important to the company," as AA "wants to have a big presence in Cuba"

I'm hearing Eurowings will now fly to MIA, not FLL. This would be the third time that Eurowings announces service to a secondary airport and ends up flying to the primary airport. Bangkok and Dubai were originally announced to be to DMK and DWC, respectively, before switching to BKK and DXB.

Colombia. Not Columbia. It is not spelled in any way like that. As American Airlines is never spelled Americanas Airlines or Americain Airlines. It's not a language issue.

And yes, the first Medellín-Miami flight will be landing in MIA today. This is the first LCC that will fly from Colombia to Miami Intenrational Airport. Flights form BOG start in two weeks.

77W is fine and a A330 isn't going to have an easy time doing MIA-IST.

Austrian always planned to downgrade MIAVIE to a 767 in the summer months because - news flash - it's a slower travel period for Miami-Austria. What a shock.

Surprised you forget to bring up Aeroflot's pending discontinuation of Miami service.
