Comfort Class is being eliminated entirely, so it was a given.

This is a big increase in J seats - from 28J to 49J - as well as Y seats from 246Y to 300Y, but total the 2-class 77Ws only have 12 more seats.

All but one of the misconnects I've had who were connecting to the QR flight have had final destinations in southeast Asia, mostly in India.

TK will be ceasing all operations entirely on December 31 due to massive losses from the MIA route which have bankrupted the airline.

It was more of a obvious filing mistake on QR's part versus a claim. Whoever makes the spreadsheet for BTS got a little lazy and just gave seat data based on daily operation when the flight wasn't run daily.

My daily commute takes me past North Perry Airport (HWO). For the past month the Goodyear blimp has been there. Around New Years Day, it was joined by the Direct TV blimp for the Orange Bowl. Today I drove by HWO and there is now a Met Life blimp on the north side of the field. Goodyear and Direct TV are still there. Why is there currently three blimps at HWO?

It's always a possibility. But the chances aren't very high.

Problems:

1. MIA only has 2 A380 gates at the moment. But 2-3 more are being planned.
2. Qatar Airways only has 4 more A380s on order.

A more likely scenario is going 2x daily or adding 3 more additional weekly flights (for example). But we don't know what the future holds. Maybe Emirates sends the A380 to MCO and Qatar wants to top it by sending one of their own to MIA.

One can only hope and dream.

Part of an interview with the director of MIA:

Quote:
We are looking to develop routes like Warsaw-Miami and Stockholm-Miami. Asia is another big untapped market for us, in terms of passenger service. We already have cargo business with Asian companies, namely China Air, Korean Air, and Cathay Pacific, and those are usually one-stop flights that go from East Asia to Alaska, refuel and go back. I have
spoken to representatives from different Asian carriers, and they all want to come here; it’s not a matter of “if,” but “when.” The “when” will happen when these airlines get new, larger, aircraft, for instance, the Dreamliners. When they start getting A-380s, then we will start to see an increase in Asian traffic coming here. We are also working on getting flights to Africa. These don’t necessarily have to be through African carriers, but could be U.S. airlines with Miami-Johannesburg, Miami-Lagos or Miami-Cairo routes.
http://investmiami2015.com/miami-int...s-transform-miami-dade-global-hub/

- WAW-MIA has been highly rumored. Expect an announcement this year.
- Depending on the success of SAS at MIA; I see ARN being added.
- I expect (or hope) an Asia carrier to announce MIA this year.
- Not sure about SAA but let's see what happens. Lagos and Cairo seem like a long shot.
