Boeing Paint Lines?

Mon Nov 09, 2015 5:38 pm

I know that Boeing has 3 Paint hangars at PAE and they send widebodies to PDX, VCV, and ACA> How many paint hangars are available at those facilities? For the 737s from RNT I know that there is one hangar there but how many are there at BFI? Also some are painted at GEG but not very often but but how many can be done there? Also are there any pain t facilities at CHS?

PDX has two hangars. Each can accommodate the 747-800.

Associated Painters GEG hangar can hold up to a 737-900.

They are also building a paint hanger in CHS that will be in service late 2016 I believe. There are 2 bays being constructed, and I think an option for a third if they ever needed more.

If I remember correctly there is only one operation paint line in RNT and BFI has two hangars capable of handling 2 737's each. The larger hangar can handle a 767 and 737.

Actually there are now two paint hangars at GEG the first one capable of handling two 737's or a 757 and the second/newer one has a single bay capable of handling up to a 757. I'm not sure how much if any work is being done here on new 737's -- it sounds like they're busy repainting Southwest's fleet.

and ACA

I think you mean ARA (Acadiana Regional) outside of New Iberia, Louisiana -- It can handle a 777 in one hangar but also has two smaller hangars in use that can handle other Boeing models.
