Transavia B738 To Operate For Air Vanuatu

Tue Nov 10, 2015 4:50 am

Air Vanuatu are retiring their flagship 737-800 (YJ-AV1) and will be taking delivery of a Next Gen 737-800 next year. During the time between aircraft, they are going to be leasing a Transavia 738. It is believed PH-HSA will be the frame. Does anyone have any further details? Will HSA be in her Sunwebs special livery?

Thanks.

Does anyone know where YJ-AV1 will end up? Hope The new -800 retains the current livery, as its quite interesting to see!

A livery change hasn't been mentioned so i'd imagine it will have the same paint job. Hopefully the new bird comes with the Scimitar winglets as they look great and they haven't seem to have caught on in this part of the world yet.

PH-HSA is well on its way from AMS and soon about to fly over India. Not sure if it's still in the Sunweb livery though?

No, I saw a pic on Transavia twitter ( 6 nov ) where PH-HSA was being prepared in a hangar. Normal HV livery minus the Transavia.com titles.

It's only an 8 year old frame. I remember when it was delivered. I presume they must be ending the lease before heavy maintenance is due?

AFAIK it's just a lease for the duration of the quiet Northern winter period. HV will use it again during the busy summer season. This happens with more HV 738's.

I look forwards to seeing it at Auckland!

IKR. Its not all that long ago that I was referring to it as new. Amazing what low interest rates have done to increase the narrowbody turnover with so many carriers.

I think A320fan is referring to the Air Vanuatu aircraft, not the Transavia one.

A very fitting livery for such job.

That's my impression too.

I saw her this morning on her first arrival into Auckland. She is wearing the old Transavia livery, minus the titles.

I've had many happy flights on her between SYD and VLI.

I was going to say it's not that old, but she is a fair workhorse.... with one 738 flying to SYD, BNE and AKL, I'm not sure she spends much time on the ground.
