Cool Video From DL

Fri Nov 13, 2015 1:34 am

Looks like its some footage for marketing and such, this was also part of the previous discussion about the A330 circling over LA.

Neat teaser video.

Amazing video! I am not a fan of Delta, but their livery looks absolutely stunning on the A330.
Beautiful video, well done DL!

A bit off topic but in this day and age could these shots have been done via drones? I mean, helicopter, car, etc with labor, fuel, etc. could it have been less costly with equal quality and just a couple of drone controllers?

I am not a huge fan of the 330's but I too have to admit that the DL livery looks great on the 330.

I've seen the photo dump from that trip and there are some stunning images that I would love to have framed (christmas...?) and hung. Glad they released the video spot to the public!

Probably not safely. Or to the insurance company's liking.

There's also a lot to be said for a talented camera man getting to see things from a real perspective vs. trying to remote control everything from the ground.

Not many aircraft have it yet.

IINM, they started doing it with the A330HGWs, which they've only recently acquired.

Wow, that is a truly masterful video. Delta is really on fire lately in every respect, a joy to see - especially when you compare it with the disgraceful state of EU carriers.

To me, that was the most stunning part of that video... Totally unexpected

The first one to have it was the first 737-900 delivered, the one dedicated to Mr. Woolman

Why? How many movie shots are done by drone cameras nowadays?

Quoting northwestEWR (Reply 8):
Probably not safely. Or to the insurance company's liking.

Seems to me that the drone shot would be more to the insurance carriers liking seeing that it takes a human element out of the equation and potential liability.

Don't doubt that at all and I do appreciate the skill it takes but just thinking in terms of dollars and sense along with insurance liabilities it just seems a more sensical approach. Nice shot nonetheless.

It was actually the 27th aircraft. N827DN. The first with the Delta logo on the bottom delivered from Boeing wasn't until a few aircraft later.
