AA61 DFW-NRT Flown By 763 Today
Just checked Flightradar24 and it shows N383AN (a 767-300ER) about to operate AA61 (DFW-NRT) and winds have made it 14h 55m. Flight takes off at 12:15 CST.
Is this a world record for the 767 operating a passenger flight?
(Also, does the lack of IFE on this flight constitute as a violation of human rights?)

Give me a break. Until less than 10 years ago most IFE consisted of overhead projectors. Bring a book or something else.

Must be FR24 error. GDS confirms 777 as does AA.com seatmap.

AA61 is a two segment "through" flight, operating MIA-DFW-NRT. The MIA-DFW leg is operated by a 763, and the DFW-NRT leg is operated by a 777.

For a while AM flew 762ERs to NRT via TIJ and nonstop on the return. That is a loooooong 767 flight. Now, AM uses 788s MEX-MTY-NRT-MEX. The MTY stop is going to be eschewed in January.

April/May: AM MEX-SCL 788 (J), AM EZE-MEX 789 (J).
April/May: AM MEX-SCL 788 (J), AM EZE-MEX 789 (J).

United's 747's still have overhead projectors in economy - the only option unless you can afford tablets for your wife and 3 kids.

Why should it ? Bring your own iPad or Android tablett, and watch a few films on it, listen to your music, play games, etc.
In general, IFE suck anyway. You might discuss, if they violate human rights.

To be fair, I'd think it would be about the best deal possible for Y pax... only a 1 in 7 chance of getting a middle seat.
That's gotta be better than being in the center of 10abreast!

So addicted to constant stimulation that you don't know how to deal with just being left to your own devices (literally!), even for just a few hours. It's sorta sad.
I'd seriously encourage "you" to try it out. Might come to enjoy the period of withdrawal, especially once you get going in your career.

No they have overhead LCDs....projectors have been gone for years.
I know the voices in my head aren't real but sometimes their ideas are just awesome!!!

Goodness me how condescending. We're all very sorry you weren't surrounded by such amazing and engaging technology when you were younger, but at least at the time you were ignorant to what you were missing out on.
Today I'm able to spend a twelve hour flight learning the ins and outs of my destination using software, browsing the internet, etc. Even better, I can dive into an interactive language learning experience and have a basic handle on the local language all before setting foot on the ground to a degree that's significantly incremental over what could be achieved even fifteen years ago. I'll take my stimulation and technology thanks very much - sorry you missed out on so many years of it.

It is not about constant stimulation. Its about not getting what you paid for. I have flown from JFK to LAX on Jetblue because of the IFE and when I got on the plane SURPRISE my entire row IFE was not working on a full flight. I expected to watch tv so I did not even bring a book. That downgrade would inconvenience most people. With the 777 you at least have a choice between the book or IFE.
