Earlier tonight it appears a Spicejet Q400 hit a pack of boars that had strayed onto the runway, causing the aircraft to veer off into soft ground. All pax evacuated safely.

A few years ago, while landing at ORD in a United flight, I heard in Ch.9 the tower telling our captain to watch out for "hogs" on the runway. So this is not unique to India, it seems.

Wild boar can easily dig a tunnel under the airport fence. Happenes here as well. The airport I'm working on has two licenced hunters (one is also a falconeer) as wildlife control officers. Should bigger animals find a way airside, they will come with their rifles or shotguns and shoot it. They have a special airside pass, which allows them to bring hunting weapons airside.

In my 49 years of air travel, I have only been on two flights that had to execute a go around. One of the times was coming in to Anchorage on a Northwest flight from Tokyo. We had to go around because of two moose on the runway. The airport sent a truck out to run them off. It was daylight and the tower spotted the animals.
DC6 to 777 and most things in between

I'm not surprised this happened. Dogs, pigs and cows are fairly common there. Our flight school used to have guys fly cross country to small airfields in that part of the country, and often the standard procedure involved a low flight over the runway to chase the animals away before coming in to land (albeit not at controlled aerodromes like VAJB). The last time I flew into that airport, there were tall grasses all around the place, with the tiny terminal and tinier tower just barely visible on approach. We used to joke that the VOR there is bigger than the terminal.

Reminds me of a few years back during an Outback air ralley raising money for the Royal Flying Doctor, we had to move sheep off the landing strip before the planes came in.
After the event was over and all the aircraft had departed we let the sheep back on. They helped stop the bush encroaching on the strip.

Recall a time some years ago at SYD when a REX flight was due in from country NSW.
A fox was running around 16L/34R and an airside security veh had been despatched to round it up.
Tower requested REX123 to go around, REX123 replied with typically laconic Aussie bravado, "we're from the bush we can handle foxes"

Back in 1981 I was making a night landing at Plymouth, Indiana airport in a Cheyenne II a deer ran onto the runway. My boss

My dad and brother hit a deer in some twin prop charter aircraft in Canada on a dirt runway that had a turn in it. Upon inspecting the incident, Canadian officials found the aircraft wa carrying twice the limit of caught fish (bags were in the other aircraft). The pilot was fined for the illegal cargo.
Edit: The deer ran straight into prop #2 with deadly result for the deer, damaging some engine and gear parts.

Well, bores are terrible things, they sit next to you on airplanes and talk absolute rubbish about really boring subjects.
