Spotters ALERT: AN-225 To BE IN ATL!

Thu Dec 10, 2015 1:36 pm

I'm sort of having a panic attack right now because I just found out that the An-225 will be in ATL tomorrow, the only day I'll be there this month...
There's an article in the local paper about a massive turbine they're moving out of a GE plant and shipping to Argentina.

If anyone can get me more info on when and where the plane will be, it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if the plan has changed but the AN-225 facebook page had this on the 8th:

Heads up AN225 out and about in Leipzig this week, all times GMT/UTC and subject to change

Do you have a link to the article (or at least which local paper it's in)?

The info about the Antonov is at the end of the article...

Even if I don't know the times, can I assume it would park at South Cargo? What's the best place to get over there and see it?

Local rumor is that it's an AN-124 (NOT the -225), arriving Friday and parking at North Cargo.
I reject your reality and substitute my own...

I heard AN-124 parking at South Cargo. That's what happened last time the A124 was in town.

They would never put the -124 on the North Cargo ramp. South cargo is the only ramp that can handle large cargo.
