The recent BASA review provided 7 extra frequencies for both parties and on the UAE side, those flrequencies have been split as 4 for EK and 3 for EY.

yes correct but the amended BASA also state that as part of been given these additional flights, both carriers have to serve one more destination such as CEB or CRK (within a year of adding the new MNL flights) or risk losing the additional MNL services.

This will exacerbate the congestion problems at NAIA. Hopefully, the opening of extended taxiway 'November' for operations tomorrow would lessen the adverse impact of the increased frequencies substantially.....

Also, the congestion prompted PAL to consider transferring some of its flights to Clark.....

Is MNL A380 ready?
I feel Emirates could upgauge on of the daily flights to a 2-class A380. It seems like a perfect aircraft for the route - Low J, High Y, Low CASM.

I believe EK has already operated an A380 into MNL as a "one-off."

Yes the 2-class A380 would be ideal. The problem now is that EK is only acquiring a few of these aircraft and they have already been allocated to a number of routes.
