What are the chances of Cubana starting service from Cuba to the USA like to Miami,New York and other cities too.
Before 1960 Cubana served Miami and New York.

Absolutely. If the US airlines start you know Cubana will.
Demand will be the interesting piece at first. Over the next few years I bet Cuba will be a big deal.

I would love to see an IL96 fly into IAH! But that won't happen. I can see it flying into JFK however.
Any potential orders for CU? I can see some secondhand 737 or A32x in the short term, that's an aircraft size they are lacking in.

Not very high with their own aircraft.
If they land their aircraft can be used as collateral in a number of lawsuits made against the Cuban government. The Obama Administration does not have the legal ability to protect Cubana from reposession. So, Cubana could wet-lease potentially or get sub-service perhaps. My understanding is that any fix for this would require Congress and there is no support for it.

Very likely we'll see them in the USA. And very likely that MIA will be flooded with Cubana aircraft.

Hopefully the embargo will be ended and Cubana can buy western built aircraft. I would like to think Boeing but Cubana has experience with airbus.
Although an opportunity to fly again on a IL-96 or Tu-204 would be worth the price of the ticket.

What would keep Cubana from buying additional Russian aircraft like the Tu-204 or An-158?
One would think that under the air service agreement, Cubana would be allowed to fly to the USA, and that their would
be some protections against near-term "repossession" of aircraft as Enilria eluded.
I think Cubana could fly the An-158 to points in Florida and maybe as far as IAH in Texas. Then the Tu-204 could fly as
far as JFK, ORD or LAX.

As already mentioned, until the issue of U.S. assets in Cuba seized after Castro took over is resolved, I can't see Cubana operating their own aircraft to the U.S. as they would be at risk of seizure.

I could be wrong, but aren't the Russian made aircraft blacklisted from flying into the US? If so, assuming that there was a way to get around the repossession problem, Cubana's only options would be their Airbus 319/320/ATR fleet... They only have 6 combined as far as I know; would that even be enough capacity to operate a decent Cuba-US network? Just curious...

I do know SU has flown IL-62 & IL-96 from Moscow & Tupleov 504? IIRC via ANC to SEA from the Russian far East.

I should've thought of that, since I saw an Antonov landing at ONT. The more I think about it, the more I'm positive I've read on A.Net a long time ago about SOME Russian aircraft being banned either in the US or Europe for noise regulations. You guys are right though, thanks for the pic!

Many older aircraft types, not just Russian, are banned from operations in the US and Europe if they don't comply with the relevant noise regulations.

No blanket ban on Russian a/c operating in the US, no.
I'm sure there are some that can't fly due to noise regulations and the like, though.
The 747 will always be the TRUE queen of the skies!

Don't want to sound picky, but the An-158, though about 80% of its components are Russian, is built in Ukraine. Only the An-148 was also built in Russia, but not anymore.

aren't all new planes from Boeing,Airbus and Ilyushun meet stage 2 and 3 noise requirements.
