Thanks Baha, but like I said no changes to TK equipment; at least scheduled for today and tomorrow. 3 x A333s daily. What happened to all those people that were booked on those 6 cancelled flights?
Some couldn't get to JFK I get that, some postponed their travel, some cancelled travel. But even 1/3 of the pax (let's say 500) would like to get to IST. (O&D)
Either 3 x 333s have 150 seats avail to clear the backlog in one day, or they wait longer for free seats??

I am just trying to understand. Why no extra flights/no equip. upgauge? Load Factors pretty low this time of the year?
What is TK's priority; to get the stranded pax out ASAP??
Thanks everyone.

DL JFK-IST MAY 1.0>0.6 SEP 1.0>0.2

Weak demand , Sultanahment bombing, ISIS threads, refuge crisis.. Looks like DL is reducing the flights drastically in Sept and is going have a slow start in May.

I am sure some of the people would be rebooked through different flights. Some will be rebooked on different airlines as well. You also need to consider that Istanbul suffered some cancellations due to a snow storm as well. I am guessing all that had a contributing factor. I am just guessing here

JJN flew to Taipeh and is on its way to SFO. Can anybody confirm that that the new cabin is 49J 300Y ?

Thanks for info.

How did they refurbish it?
- Did they keep the old business class seats and just installed 21 new ones?
- Did they keep the old economy class seats and just installed 54 new ones?
- What did they do with the comfort class seats?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like after -JJN, the next one to get the 49/300 is -JJG. No flights recently.

Does anybody know when the 3 KQA B77W will deliver? Ayci said TK will receive 3 B77W end of this month.
According to TK Webpage, TK has now 296 aircraft. And the 300th is an A333 TC-LNC which will deliver early February.

Should also be ready to fly in about two weeks from now. On average, it took them 1 months including all other work they do as well.

What happens to the CC class seats? Can they be used on narrow body aircraft or do they just throw them into the garbage?

Seems unlikely, painting can take up to two weeks.

I have a feeling they sit in a warehouse, waiting for someone to buy them bulk. They might be just too big/heavy for single aisle J use, and wrong color.

Quoting TK787 (Reply 210):

If my memory does not trick to me they should be same seats with narrrow body business seats. Dress covers can be easily replaced, but plastic parts need replacement ar paint process.

Kokpit.aero reports 30% decline in bookings from Germany and more than 50% decline in bookings from Russia.
It will be a tough summer for Turkish tourism.

I see Atlas adding a few more scheduled markets - Stockholm and Zurich daily plus seasonal Mykonos 6x weekly.

But in good news traffic is booming from the Arab world and Far East - travelers from Kuwait, UAE, Saudi, Malaysia, Indonesia are arriving in record numbers.
From the desert to the sea, to all of Southern California
