Isn't summer larger for VFR traffic?

DFW-DXB looks like it will stay on the 77W through summer (probably a smart move), while IAH-DXB goes back to the 380 for the summer schedule.
This is my signature until I think of a better one.

I don't think so. SoCal's subcontinent popul, including Indians, will definitely be much larger than the DFW area. You are looking at the LA through San Diego including Orange County- that's huge population base. I could see EK's strategy paying off. SQ and CX could be potentially affected. But, from west coast to India, I feel as though people would go for transpacific than polar. But, then again, SQ has two stops to India, but EK will have one.

Also, how long can ME3 strategy rely on population of a single country, like India? That model doesn't look diverse enough.

Cheaper how? It would be manual sum of locals pricing in that there would be no end on end combinability and they'd simply have to purchase two separate tickets, so what is that cheaper than?

That was the gist of the announcement - A380 after August 1.

If DFW is now being downgauged through the end of August, it could be a while before that changes.

So sad to see EK 380 leave DFW (eventually). May be a better move for EK since the load factors are not positive at all.

But I am surprised that they didn't waited until summer.

Good news for EY and QR since EK is not going to throw some crazy fares into the market to fill their seats and force others to do so.

I wonder if this news gives EY the chance to finally go daily on their AUH- DFW service?

Also, do EY's 789's have the legs do do the AUH-DFW route?

I fly DFW to India regularly Emirates is not the cheapest option. Usually it is LH, BA or QR. I will definitely miss the A380 on this route.
