Isnt the Airbus January O&D figures a bit late this month?

Think it's usually the Thursday of the first full week of the month which is tomorrow. Maybe they're waiting to confirm the Iran order

If the Iran Air order hasn't been confirmed by now it would be on the February O&D sheet   But you're right about the Thursday.

So another NG to MAX conversion, it sounds like.

Makes me wonder if Boeing has anywhere near the "production gap" on the NG that some believe.

I'm not sure about that. The year to date info just below the table still shows 0 MAX but 61 NGs.

Given that the IR "agreement" has already been very publicly announced, I really can't see any reason why they should now add the firm order(s) to the books as "unidentified" - what purpose would that serve?

I think so.

I doubt it's Iran Air. My guess is Garuda Indonesia. Last year they mentioned a possible conversion for the remaining A330ceo on order.

Flightglobal suggests that too:

Garuda Indonesia's order backlog for the type has been reduced by seven, from 24 to 17 aircraft, the Airbus data indicates. Gulf Air's dormant order for six A330s has also been removed.

Depending on how many A320neo will be delivered this year.
If one or two "mega-orders" (Spicejet comes to mind) will be won by Airbus, the backlog at the end of 2016 could be even larger.

Here's the breakdown as far as I can see (beyond what was reported for January):

- BOC Aviation ordered 7 A321's and 18 A320neo's. In addition, they converted 10 A321neo's into A320neo's. They were also identified for 5 previously Undisclosed A320's.

- Gulf Air ordered 2 A320neo's and 17 A321neo's. They cancelled 6 A330-300's and 1 A319.

- Undisclosed customer(s) purchased 5 A321's and 2 A330-900's.

- Spring Airlines were identified as the buyer of 2 formerly Undisclosed A320's, and Juneyao Airlines for 1 A320.

Okay Airways of China have announced a commitment for 12 737s breakdown is eight MAX 8s, three 737 MAX 9s and one Next-Generation 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplane. That makes them the first in China to order the MAX 9.

My hunch is it is part of the December 31, 2015 order, which was for 1 737-900ER and 19 unspecified MAX's. This would imply there's a separate order for 8 MAX's buried there.

This tweet from GA's official account suggests an A330(-900)neo order is incoming, though at the moment, it's just a 'Memorandum of Partnership'.

Well they do hold an A330neo scale model in their hands    I do believe Garuda is behind the unidentified order of 14 A330-900 jets.

Citilink swaps 10 A320s for 10 A321s.

A nice upgrade for them, underlining the popularity of the A321.

RR must be quite pleased too with the ~$650M engine deal.

Iran's Kish Air orders two A321s.

Delivery in May, per the article - they can't be new-build, can they?
