Cargojet 8th B767-300(F) + LOT Cargo Flights

W8 has registered its eighth 763F on January 4. A decade ago that same aircraft was already registered and operated from Canada by Zoom after a decade with KL.

I Wonder if this is the white tale I saw yesterday at YHM? I love seeing them getting all these 767. I still am surprised they haven't gotten a few large
aircraft for the YHM to YYC and YHM to YWG flights.

You mean larger to lift more on one flight? Is it really worth it to introduce another type with everything it involves, especially since they are still in the red?

I wonder what their plans are to replace their 8-strong 722F fleet?

I was surprised that they returned 2 762Fs to lessors while retaining the 722F fleet. Perhaps the lease rates on those 2 762Fs were too high.

Presumably, the lower fuel prices have extended the life of the 722F fleet somewhat.

Amazon has a few warehouses in Poland. Weren't they interested in B767 operations?

Don't forget, that the B-727's are owned - they don't cost them much, even if parked or only used lightly. In the end CargoJet will have only B-757-200F and B-767-300F.

My understanding is that all remaining 762F will be returned to CAM in short order, perhaps even all this quarter and be replaced by newly acquired/leased 763F.

I mean drop the one flight and just operate with a singe MD-11 or 777 freighter.
The YHM-YWG flights at times leave 10-15 mins apart.

It was delivered yesterday and flown TLV-CGN before performing flight W8 1894 CGN-YHM.

I think the question is: why does it need to go to ROW for painting when it could have been painted in TLV where the conversion was taking place? I, for one, assume that TLV has a paint hangar as i'm pretty sure the Air Canada Rouge frames come back painted after conversion. But i could be wrong.

The new owner and/or operator is allowed to have it painted wherever, by whom, when and for how much $$ it wants to. There are a million possibilities as to why they might want to send it to Dean Baldwin: price, schedule, past relationship, quality of work, value proposition, US location. Schedule probably weighed heavily.
