Quoting N111MD (Thread starter): (WestJet's first ever flight to Hawaii using their own metal) |
Quoting threepoint (Reply 1): Pardon? |
Quoting N111MD (Thread starter): C-GOGN, operating YEG-OGG (WestJet's first ever flight to Hawaii using their own metal) diverts to YYC... |
Quoting N111MD (Thread starter): C-GOGN, operating YEG-OGG (WestJet's first ever flight to Hawaii using their own metal) diverts to YYC |
Quoting N111MD (Reply 5): Correction: "WestJet's first ever flight to Hawaii using their own 767" |
Quoting Viscount724 (Reply 8): Quoting N111MD (Reply 5): Correction: "WestJet's first ever flight to Hawaii using their own 767" Or (I assume) the first WS flight from YEG to Hawaii using their own metal? WS did operate the 737-700 YYC-HNL for a year or two but it had payload penalties and wasn't economic so they then began wet-leasing 757s from Thomas Cook for the seasonal YYC/YEG-Hawaii routes. Not sure if they operated the 737-700 nonstop YEG-HNL. |
Quoting nikeson13 (Reply 2): Its the inaugural flight to Hawaii for THEIR OWN 767's. This is the first time they've flown 767's to HI (they've flown 737's for years), but they wet leased some 767's earlier this year for the route. |
Quoting ASFlyer (Reply 11): Is anyone besides me wondering why the plane diverted |
Quoting aerolimani (Reply 12): Quoting ASFlyer (Reply 11): Is anyone besides me wondering why the plane diverted Some brief searching around on twitter didn't come up with much. One person said mechanical, and another said the particular plane wasn't properly ETOPS certified, and so was turned back. So for now, there's nothing but rumours and hearsay. |
Quoting rikkus67 (Reply 14): Thinking back to 1996, when WS started with 732's, it seems like a bit of deja vu! If i remember correctly, they had headaches on the (sometimes VERY) used equipment.... and if I remember, a temporary grounding! |
Quoting aerolimani (Reply 12): One person said mechanical, and another said the particular plane wasn't properly ETOPS certified, |
Quoting sixtyseven (Reply 18): The aircraft would not have departed if it was not ETOPS certified. Don't be crazy. |
Quoting SpaceshipDC10 (Reply 22): Today the same flight operated again by a 738 diverted to YVR. http://www.flightradar24.com/WJA1884/8849c96 |
