Quoting WINGSOFMAN72 (Reply 49): Those were the days you could catch interesting flights on widebodies for almost nothing. |
No kidding. I think my LAX - SAN flight on a DL L-1011 was $12. SFO - LAX was about $28, or a few more for first class.

Quoting afcjets (Reply 24): In Hawaii, AA flew HNL-OGG on a DC10 and DL on an L10. I believe UA may have had a D10 on that route too. |
Quoting CALPSAFltSkeds (Reply 55): AA UA, PS and DL ran widebodies LAX-SAN decades ago. UA ran 747s HNL-ITO. |

Quoting einsteinboricua (Reply 11): Why does AA use a wide-body for such a short hop? |
Quoting rnav2dlrey (Reply 31): didn't UA operate OGG-KOA-SFO/LAX with a 772 until recently? i thought one of the widebodies visited two islands on the way back to the mainland. |
