Hi
I trying to find out the routes currently flown by USA B744 operators UA and DL, to and from the USA.
A search did not produce a good answer. Could someone shed some light on that?

ORD-PVG
ORD-NRT
SFO-NRT
SFO-HKG
SFO-PEK
SFO-PVG
SFO-FRA
Not sure about DL at the moment. I think most of their 744 operations are out of DTW these days.

Atlas also has a few pax 744's for charter,I think .

Well, I think DL is down to only something like 9 frames right now. They are currently doing some 744 subs on DTW-ATL this week for the Detroit Auto Show.

Summer '15 also had SFO-LHR and ORD-FRA.....these may well be seasonal upgauge - downgauge. SFO-ICN recently downgauged to a 772....not sure if that's permanent. Two airframes left the fleet in 2015, and two more are scheduled to exit in 2016.

FWIW, UA is also running SFO-ORD in March this year, UA 1570 as well as ORD-SFO, UA 1213. Not sure what's up with that sort of flying, maybe they're trying to utilize ships that would be otherwise sat on the ground at SFO while awaiting their next Asia flight or are doing a W rotation both ways for a month. Either way, it's pretty cool to see UA do this domestically on a daily basis.

They've done this before...if memory serves, the stated reason at the time was so that they could rotate the 747's flying out of ORD and make sure all the ships go through the maintenance base at SFO. I think it's a good bet that's why they're doing it this time as well.
Are SFO-LHR and ORD-FRA going back to the 747 in summer 2016?

Probably because they were the ones due for heavy maintenance. Doesn't make sense to spend those millions when you're in the process of retiring the type.

On January 16th I flew UA from FRA to IAH. There was a UA 744 at FRA that morning, which I believe was heading to ORD. Don't know if that was a regularly scheduled flight or a one off.
