True! But I believe the real test comes with the next flight, the 15:15(lt) LH110 to MUC again. This flight sits right in the middle of the 1 to 3 hours where the shaft bending occurs due to the uneven cooling of the engine. So this is where the software fix that P&W provided should do its job

1st flight (FRA-MUC) the eninge was cold, first flight of the day
2nd flight (MUC-FRA) took off within one hour after arrival, theoretically the engine should still be hot enough to prevent the shaft to bend

3rd flight (FRA-MUC) takes off in about 2,5 hours (as of writing this)

Not exactly. Their last order with Pratt engines was placed on 22 December 1983, for 6 737-200s, 18 years after their 737-100 order.

Don't know what it is, but it seems to be a typical Pratt thing. You see the same thing on newly delivered A330s with Pratt engines:

Would be interesting to know how much fuel the A320neo saves on FRA-HAM compared to D-AIPA and compared to one of the latest A320Ceos.

Probably little, if at all. It is an extremely short route, barely 1hr of which most is climb, descent, or approach patterns; very little actual cruise. The CEO's lighter weight will partially compensate for its worse fuel consumption, and the NEOs fuel burn will come to shine less.
It is on such routes that I expect the CEO's to spend their last days, when NEO's will have become abundant.

I wonder how the GTF performs in climb versus traditional architecture?

D-AINA is on her way for the second trip of the day, as expected there were about 6/7 minutes between start of pushback and start of taxiing...

Its the abradable lining. Its softish honeycomb that is actually abraded by the fan in operation. On RR engines its a straw colour.

Hopefully they will all have the modification to the vent surge tank outlet to do away with the irritating whine when on approach or climb at lower altitudes..It is a very simple fix involving a metal flange the size of a cell phone, as discussed on the Tech Ops forum. No more blowing across the top of the bottle syndrome.

Worst thing IMO is the absolut non existing of any IFE whatsoever. In 2016! Streaming movies, live TV, WiFi...nope.
Just compare it to the new JetBlue interior discussed right now. 162 seats btw.

If you seat me like shite, at least let me watch some show, news or sports.

To further clarify, we can't see the entire opening for Lav G (the left lav) in that photo. Although the upper end of the unseen door segment gets truncated by the fuselage curvature.

One difference is that B6 has plenty of 5-6 hour long routes. Their strength are the transcons. Instead, LH's short haul fleet typically flies 1.5-2 hour segments. What's the point of offering movies when the flight is shorter than a movie?

I thought so, as well. One lav is still PRM capable in V2 http://www.zodiacaerospace.com/en/ne...-launch-space-flex-v2-cabin-option
IIRC not as roomy with the folding wall of V1, though. LH put the lavs on the other side and the FA seat is turned 90 degrees in your photo. Probably adds some inches to the lav.

Zodiac delivered the space flex thingy on time

Edit with better link to the PRM difference of V1 and V2 : https://www.runwaygirlnetwork.com/2014/09/22/airbus-facilitates-passengers-with-reduced-mobility/

A major congrats to LH and especially Airbus!

IMHO the A32XNEO, especially the A321NEO will be a game changer for carriers which need the extra range that the A321OEO/B739 wouldn't be able to do but don't need the capacity of a twin engine plane.

Too bad Boeing can't really compete with the B739MAX. IMHO its not even close between the B739MAX and A321NEO.
