Along with other existing and upcoming flights such as DUB-YYT on WS, ORK-BOS on Norwegian the 737 is starting to build a presence on niche TATL routes - and to think some people complain about 757s on TATL flights

The carrier also offers seasonal service to Halifax from Paris CDG with 73Ws, via Glasgow in 2014 and via Dublin since last summer.
Next flights :
FRA-DTW (DL) / DTW-LAS (DL) / LAS-SEA (DL) / SEA-CDG (AF) / CDG-FRA (AF)

3rd Nonstop transatlantic destination for PVD and 4th direct, not too shabby for zero one year ago!

Does anyone know if they will continue to fly CDG-DUB-YHZ if this service starts?

Also, will passengers pre-clear in Shannon?

I really don't think this would work. ASL France doesn't have many connections in SNN or CDG...so it would have to mostly be O&D traffic. They would be taking the already thin PVD - Europe market, which is served well by Condor, and stretching it even thinner.

It works from YHZ which is comprable or thinner... DE flights aren't really convenient for Ireland. New England to Ireland tends to do well in the summer due to ethnic heritage and family while being a shorter hop.

Being comprable to a transcon in length, even if you price it at $600-700 it should make money while also stimulating the market with low fares

I still think there should be room for Icelandair or WOW to fly to PVD from KEF.

for WOW I think it would have to be a move from BOS, for FI, it would be a seasonal only supplement to BOS for Terminal E being maxed out.

It's a once weekly flight during the peak of summer travel season. Ireland is a hugely popular destination in New England. So long as it is appropriately marketed, this flight should do just fine.

I do not have the the loads details but according to this article in french Europe Airpost : le Paris – Halifax reconduit en 2016 the route was profitable the second year.

75% of the passengers originate from Paris. It seems that there are some connections to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon with Air Saint Pierre.

Intresting! Any other possible french community near BOS since it looks like they fly to YHX to bring the people of Saint-Pierre back to the homeland?

There may be a few people going to St-Pierre, but not more than a handful. It has a tiny population (and they can also fly via Montreal with one less stop).

The Halifax route would cater mostly to tourists from Nova Scotia going to Ireland and France, and tourists from Europe going to Nova Scotia.

There must be some traffic between CDG and SNN to be had as well. Don't think it is currently served by anyone else.

Self connect options onto FR at SNN and WN at PVD might entice a little demand from the bargain hunters out there looking for lower cost options for summer TATL travel.

Will be interesting to see what happens either way.

Total joke. Besides, as a new carrier to the U.S., we are looking at 6-8 months for approval.

ASL Airlines group already flies into the US in the form of EI 757's. Not sure if that matters or not for getting approvals.

The carrier will have to get approval, post a schedule and get advertising soon in order to catch this Summer season. Nonetheless, as BOS saturates in the coming years, we could expect more new activity like this especially after the runway extension at PVD is finished with flexibility it will bring.

Well, It doesn't mater so much for 73G and 757 or the 763 that goes to FRA most times, but Westbound long flights are more of a consideration. They are in the process of moving a busy multi-lane state road which should be paved and opened late this year to make room. The actual 1534' extension of 5-23 will be done in 2017.

Interesting news if this goes ahead. They might be leaving it late for 2016 though.

Best of luck to 5O with this, certainly thinking outside the box using PVD and SNN to connect to CDG.
It is what it is.

The Main Avenue realignment should be open later in the Spring with the lengthened runway to 8700 feet open in December 2017.

I'm not sure there is anyway that 5O can start service in May but there would seem to be a chance for late June?
