Any idea why an All Nippon B773 was in PHX? Operated as NH9409 to NRT. Was it a sports charter?

From the PHX Aviation thread, it's a sports charter as you guessed:

Baseball charter I believe. Sched ETD is 1615

The Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters are holding spring training for two weeks at the Peoria Sports Complex.

Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters

More than anything I want this team's name to be a literal representation of their sport...

The flight from Tokyo had the fighters, NH1986. NH9409 is a ferry flight back to NRT. It comes back again next month as a ferry flight arriving on the 16th and goes out a few hours later as a charter flight to OKA.

PHX gets random intl carriers like this on a yearly basis this time of year for baseball charters, often to take MLB teams abroad for exhibition games. In the past five years or so, we've had ANA, JAL, Eva Air, and Qantas, just to name a few.
