Quoting lhpdx (Reply 46): Does AS plan to expand more out of PDX this year in addition to the all ready announced routes? |
Quoting ANA787 (Reply 44): Oregon tourism market is booming thanks to the many new flights being added. |
Quoting mtnwest1979 (Reply 50): Just a thought here.... Why is it that the TSA will seemingly in no way return to Klamath Falls (LMT) for the service that PenAir wanted to start from PDX, yet I haven't heard the same reasoning or reluctance to return to Stillwater,OK (SWO) for American Eagle's service there? |
Quoting flyoregon (Reply 52): Quoting lhpdx (Reply 46): Does AS plan to expand more out of PDX this year in addition to the all ready announced routes? Not to be rude, but you ask this all the time and the answer is always 'yes.' If you're looking for specifics on what routes those might be, you just have to be patient. Alaska has commented many, many times that they are committed to Portland and making AS the largest and most dominant carrier from PDX. |
Quoting lhpdx (Reply 54): Dude I'll never ask it again....... |
Quoting Airnerd (Reply 39): http://www.oregonlive.com/commuting/...reached_thu.html#incart_river_home Looks like we'll see if DL was bluffing about pulling the PDX-NRT flights if HND opened only partially to US carriers. Maybe the DL NRT hub (inherited from NWA) is toast? |
Quoting ANA787 (Reply 56): Would Delta add PDX-PVG in lieu of PDX-NRT? Intel and Nike both have contracts with Delta, and coincidentally both companies top Asian destination from PDX is PVG. |
Quoting flyoregon (Reply 53): -Lewiston Municipal Airport (LWT) Lewiston, MT |
Quoting flyoregon (Reply 53): 4 Mile City Frank Wiley Field Airport (MLS) Miles City, MT |

Quoting flyoregon (Reply 52): Oregon tourism isn't booming because of the new flights, the new flights are being added because the economy is booming. Airlines don't add flights between cities based on hope or anticipation. The Portland/Oregon economy is doing very well and has been doing well for some time, and because of that, we are seeing an influx of new flight options from PDX, EUG, MFR, and RDM. |
Quoting lhpdx (Reply 55): It looks like Penair wants to build a maintenance hanger in Klamath Falls, Oregon |
Quoting ANA787 (Reply 56): Would Delta add PDX-PVG in lieu of PDX-NRT? Intel and Nike both have contracts with Delta, and coincidentally both companies top Asian destination from PDX is PVG. |
Quoting Airnerd (Reply 57): I don't know. DL's whole Asia strategy is built on the NRT hub inherited from NWA. |
Quoting UnitedFlyer (Reply 61): With the upturn in traffic at MFR, is there a chance AS may upgrade the MFR-LAX to a 737 someday? |
Quoting pdxswa (Reply 48): CSN 329 sits on the UPS ramp after having arrived earlier in the day. It WX diverted from CYVR unable to get into KSEA also. Pilots had timed out and there was a MX issue that further added to the problems. It finally left after being here for 14 hours. |
Quoting pdxswa (Reply 60): A very rare bird Iron 99 sits at night in the cold and the rain. |

Quoting bluejackets (Reply 65): I don't know about that one, but MFR-SEA may be a possibility. But even a 319 to SLC on DL or mainline to SFO on UA might be more likely. |
Quoting Airnerd (Reply 66): there's still quite a bit of growth that would need to happen first. |
Quoting pdxswa (Reply 68): Air Canada Express taxing out on alpha with snow capped Mt. Hood behind. |
Quoting ANA787 (Reply 69): 1,224,665 passengers passed through PDX in January 2016 vs 1,137,654 in January 2015. A 7.6% increase! |
Quoting pdx (Reply 71): This may be old news, but I just went on K5's newly designed website and found out their flights to OTH end on 21MAR. |
Quoting pdx (Reply 71): Also, their proposed new service to SEA, CLM, and MWH has been postponed. |
Quoting pdx (Reply 71): Sounds like the end is near....at least in the Pacific Northwest. I hope PenAir takes over and is successful with their PDX "hub"! |
Quoting RWA380 (Reply 72): Hey pdx, yes this is news that has been announced, but still noteworthy as the date looms close. KS is beginning service to OTH from PDX the next day or two after K5 bails, they will have 1 r/t a day to start, likely the same number of seats with K5's 3 flights. |
Quoting 32andBelow (Reply 75): Just because some places are garbage to work doesn't mean there is a surplus of available pilots. Everyone is hurting. |
Quoting 32andBelow (Reply 77): K5 honestly should be able to hire people easily since they don't need ATPs. |
Quoting 32andBelow (Reply 80): Where would you go? Cape air? Alaska bush flying? |
