What routes are planned for the 350 and when will all be delivered?

Although the schedules feature the A350 from May 1st there is speculation that the aircraft will not be here in time to do that. The plan however, despite the delays, is still to have 12 aircraft delivered this year as per the original target.

That is something one of the online articles has said. Not sure if it is true or not as I have not heard anything internally about that but then again the company wouldn't be readily admitting that one. It wouldn't surprise me however, as I heard that CX confirmed the new colour scheme to Airbus so late that it nearly messed up their paint schedule for the first aircraft.

I just had a CX A340-300 on BKK-HKG swapped to an A350-900 for a flight a few months out.
Mixed feelings of both disappointment and excitement at the same time!
Both would be new types for me. One will be around for decades; the other won't...

I see they are pretty much guaranteed on HKG-AKL.
Do you know how many should be left in September and if they will exit the fleet pretty much on a 1 for 1 basis when the A350s start arriving?

The plan is for two more to leave this year, leaving 4. The final one leaves November 2017. That's the current plan, always subject to changes that is!

That was the rumour that was out for a while. Since debunked. The A350 will be heading to AKL as one of the first "longhaul" destinations.

The A340 may stay on that route longer.

I wouldn't be surprised if the AKL route becomes the final destination for the 343 as it leaves the fleet?
Just a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if the 359s went on other long haul routes first and then took over AKL as the final 343 got retired

There where roumors about this but never confirmed. I doubt that CX will swap from a B77W to 350 as there "current" loads are highter then the capacity of a 350. But one never knows what will be.

DUS and LGW now confirmed as first long haul A350 routes... still no official date for AKL though. Both DUS and LGW are obvious choices for the A350.
THe withdrawal of the 4x weekly 77W off DUS plus a seasonal reduction in 77W services to SYD will free up the 77W fleet so wondering if this will help bolster some USA frequencies and maybe push BOS to daily.

Seems like a bad choice for a plane without F class seats. Isn't that a market with strong F demand?
Interesting enough is the huge gap in seat numbers between CX's two 77W configurations (77H with F and 77G without F).

When does this happen and on what flight#?
I booked CX101 HKG-SYD for September and my itinerary still shows a 77W operating the flight but a dummy booking shows a 333. The 343 to 359 equipment change on BKK-HKG has been updated on my itinerary so I'm not sure why the equipment change on my itinerary has been updated for only one flight, not both flights with equipment changes?

Whilst I'll miss being able to log a CX 777-300ER, I prefer the 2-4-2 Y config of the A330 since I'll be traveling with my wife.
I wonder why the 343 to 359 swap on BKK-HKG has updated in my itinerary but the HKG-SYD 77W to 333 change hasn't been updated and still shows the 77W???
