When Did Lufthansa A340 Begin Flying Into Atlanta?

Thu Feb 25, 2016 9:05 pm

Would anyone remember when Lufthansa began flying their Airbus A340 into Atlanta? I am unable to find anything online.
Many thanks, Brian

Summer Schedule 1994 according to a Lufthansa Timetable !

DC-10-30 before that , replaced by A-340-200 !
I still miss Trans World Airlines and the L-1011

I've flown LH A346 to ATL, so do they change from time to time?

Probably, but consider that LH doesn't fly A342s anymore, they only have A340-300s and -600s.

It's normally an A343, but in the fall and winter it's sometimes an A346.

Hm for some reason I thought the A346s were only flying out of MUC not FRA, but I may be wrong.

Some A346s are still stationed in FRA, the majority are our in MUC though.

The first time I ever saw an A340 was Lufthansa at Atlanta. I believe it was in 1995 or 1996. I remember it taking off thinking it was a 747-400 but when it turned I didn't notice a hump. I had no idea what it was until about a year later!
