Quoting Jack (Thread starter): With Emirates switching the lunch time service from 777 to A380 at BHX (Birmingham UK) at the end of March it got me thinking. How many airports with a regular A380 service have never had a regular 747 service? BHX has had the odd 747 cargo and government and even an Emirates A380 one off flight but no regular scheduled service. Probably not the first airport but there cann't be that many? |

Quoting RyanairGuru (Reply 4): I've never seen any definition that included the 744 as a VLA. |
Quoting tonystan (Reply 7): Did BHX not have regular B747 ops with PIA in the late 90s? |
Quoting mjoelnir (Reply 5): 400 and more passengers, the Airbus definition. |
Quoting hilram (Reply 9): That would bring Cebu Pacific´s A333s into the VLA category... (436 seats.) |
Quoting sturmovik (Reply 11): Quoting a350 (Reply 3): Perhaps we should call A380 and 747 VQAs (Very Quad Aircraft) Very Quad? As opposed to somewhat quad? I guess you could call the A340-300 somewhat quad.. |
Quoting PlymSpotter (Reply 8): Quoting tonystan (Reply 7): Did BHX not have regular B747 ops with PIA in the late 90s? I believe they did, but before that there was indeed Wardair to Canada with the 741/2 |
