BHX Spotters - Photo Op Today 22/3/16!

Hi,

For anyone in or around the Birmingham / BHX area, there will be an A380 in EK colours in this afternoon (16:30) in preperation for the inaugural daily EK rotation beginning Easter Sunday, 27/3/16.

Presume it is to test that the new upper deck airbridge works okay and catering trucks etc. can prcatice before scheduled services begin on Sunday.

Anyway, just a heads up for you all.

Just waiting f the photo opportunity of an EK A380 and B777 facing each other on stand when the Lunchtime flight comes in later on today.

Managed to get down yesterday as it's my day off and catch it coming in! Bit annoyed they switched runways just as I arrived, but the head on shot was actually quite decent in the end!

Unfortunately couldn't be there for the first day of ops due to work, so glad I got down to see it yesterday!

Yeah the 777 is on 42C I believe so other side of the terminal pier.

Not quite understanding what you mean? It's painted in full Emirates colours?

Too expensive to make it flat!!! The runway extension they added however is quite flat!!

Well I managed to get my shot of the 380 & 777 facing each other.

I will not be attempting to offer it for upload into the data base as the quality is not brilliant (but it does for me).

The one thing mentioned in our office is the size difference between the two flights (especially the tail).

Well have to run I have a shipment to label to make sure it flies out on the first operational flight on Sunday.
