Meraj Air, Mahan Air and Caspian Airlines are still under sanctions, the others are more regional and therefore an order for long-haul planes is very unlikely!
You're right but right now, Boeing is reluctant to sell to any Iranian airline because the government keeps threatening new sanctions, as well as forcing companies to jump through hoops on old ones. Boeing may have been cleared to sell aircraft to Iran but the process is far from friendly or easy.
I have my doubts that Iran Air will bother buying new Boeings. I don't think Iran wants its flag carrier at the mercy of the whims of US politicians. As long as the EU countries are falling over themselves to do business in Iran, IR
will keep buying Airbus.
I'm sure Mahan and others would love to buy some Boeing products but it's not that big of a deal since there are lots of good used aircraft on the market...and for cheap. Wasn't it Richard Anderson who said he could get good, used 772's for about 10 million bucks each?
Boeing really has to make it clear to the politicians how many billions are potentially at stake. Money seems to be the only language that lawmakers understand.
