Hi all,
I am a frequent watcher of the Maho Beach Cam located next to SXM. Usually the control tower personnel that I hear on the
ATC audio speak English with a somewhat heavy Dutch, French and/or Caribbean accent but today when I was listening to
the audio the controller spoke with an American accent and used words that were pretty unique to American English. Of course
this is not the biggest issue in the world of aviation but I thought it was cool to hear someone speaking "American English" at
SXM.
Any thoughts?

When I was in school I had about two weeks working at the SXM Tower, and most of the controllers are from St. Maarten. Though they could have recruited a new controller, and since SXM is so close to the US it doesn't surprise me the person has an American accent.
