Hi there. Glad you're back, and being in TLS means being at the source. All the best for your new location and I'm looking forward to your valuable info.

Just read this reply now, I've moved programmes to A330, however, will continue to try and provide info on the A350 side too, as we share some of the slots in Station 18 and paint shop.

But as These "tents" are only temporary, we know this will not last forever.

Those tents / pavilions are temporary indeed. But until they disappear, more will be constructed (the 4th 'tent' has just been completed).

MSN63 delay: due to fuel tank issues

What kind of issue can they have so early in production with the tank?

I would guess that delivery is delayed or something like that that since "Aircraft Dispostion" status is parts arriving.

Are they refitting the new cabin, which is featured on the most recent deliveries? I hope this is not a lease termination, as this a/c is only 6 years old...

No one knows what A4O-DA is doing in TLS ? As seen in Karels' reply 140 ...

I don't know. The customer walks with the aircraft from the start of final assembly until the very end, found an issue and rejected the component. As far as I know, the fuselage was sent back to XFW and still hasn't returned.

Since I've stopped with my production list on my A350 logbook (Too many changes, difficult to follow aircraft position and I wanted to focus on A320neo) I see that I still have MSN63 listed for UL, maybe UL has a fuel tank configuration that isn't the same as QR? (assuming they took the UL slot with parts already built)

It cannot be a wing tank issue because MSN 63 wings and tail fin are currently stored in one of the storage sheds in TLS (reference photo below). The center fuselage section was sent back to XFW.

I guess L is the letter used for building located in area "Jean-Luc LAGARDERE", just like M is used for area "St-MARTIN" or C for "Clément Ader". Don't ask me about why buildings in "Louis BREGUET" area are using the A code.

In the case of L, I can assume they wanted to distinguish permanent from temporary building, that's why they double the LL for the tension fabric structures.

The buildings at the Lagardère site are prefixed with the letter L.

Currently buildings L70, L33 and L32 are being used to complete the A350 outstanding work. L70 was once meant to become a second body join hangar for the A380, when production would be increased to 40 jets per year. That never happened.

There's also an A350 compatible paint hangar located at Lagardère (L07) with two more under construction.

Thanks for that. It's nice to see the movement in a good level of detail. It was more after something like this though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rak2HldVp9M - anyone know if this kind of footage exist for the A350 (or any Airbus, for that matter).

Thanks

CX3350 (MSN 29, Cathay #1, B-LRA) is online and should depart for Hong Kong shortly.

Quoting hkcanadaexpat (Reply 195):

Hopefully they will announce their config details for the A359 pretty shortly too!

The Latam Livery looks like a cheap simplified AEROFLOT....

Yes, the TAM livery is much nicer, but think of how great it would have looked in LAN colours!

In other A350 news, the EI CEO, Stephen Kavanagh is hinting heavily that EI will not take the 350s which have now been transferred to the IAG order book; EI is likely to stick to 333s, while the A350s on order (No 197 being the first) are likely to go to Iberia.

Thanks, Miami. I love the A359's aesthetics, but given the few snapshots we've had of A35K I might end up preferring it, the 6 bogie gear and longer length might better balance out the huge engines. It might turn out to be the optimal model, and that is a strange thing to say given how poorly received the A35K was here on a.net.
