Thu Apr 28, 2016 3:11 am

After several days with the availability zeroed out, TAM has now removed BSB-MIA from Amadeus.
Last flight is September 1st departing Miami.

Brazil economy is in the tank. Not very surprising, would be surprised if AA axed it also though,

That is shocking considering BSB was TAM's newest hub, so they could connect many small cities to MIA. Of course AA still flies MIA-BSB but yet... so TAM from BSB will have only short-haul (also BSB-MCO is gone).

It makes me wonder how Air France fares in CDG-BSB. The route was launched not many years ago (somehow at the peak of Brazil's boom) in a time where everything worked. Also MAD-BSB with Iberia will likely not happen in the near future!

Wow, I'm surprised, I figured AA would ax it instead of TAM. My first flight to Brazil was the MIA-BSB route on AA, it felt interesting being on such a long flight in a 757 however in J it was very pleasant. I certainly hope the economy picks up in 2017 as is expected. I'll be flying MIA-BSB on AA in June.

Unfortunate, but understandable given the depth and severity of Brazil's present economic challenges, and especially in the context of the pending antitrust-immunized, revenue-sharing JV between AA and Latam. I wonder if this could precipitate AA transitioning its MIA-BSB to a 767?

Sad to see this. I fly to BSB regularly, and JJ's product was a lot better than AA's on the route. Did the flight last month, packed aircraft.

Hopefully this is only a short to medium term solution, and BSB hasn't been totally abandoned yet for LATAM international.
