Quoting commavia (Reply 1): So with the 75 CSeries from yesterday, plus all the other orders, what does this bring Delta's total firm backlog up to? 300ish? |
Quoting MSPNWA (Reply 4): I get about 290 firm with the 787s. |
Quoting 797 (Thread starter): Excellent news from Atlanta! |
Quoting commavia (Reply 1): As expected. |
Quoting MSPNWA (Reply 4): I'm finding it very interesting that DL has 323 airplanes seating about 150-160 passengers (A320, 738, MD88, MD90). Only 2 of those 323 are less than 13 years old. And yet they have none in that very popular size range on order. CS500, anyone? |
Quoting dc10lover (Reply 6): And DL still taking delivery of Embraer 175's. It's always good to see an airline go on a "shopping spree" |
Quoting hilram (Reply 8): Actually, they´re not anylonger. They walked away from that deal. |

Quoting burnsie28 (Reply 15): Actually they are still taking delivery of them, but then will turn around and sell them. |
Quoting Someone83 (Reply 7): Another victory for the A321CEO/NEO platform over the 737-900ER/-9MAX |
Quoting Coronado (Reply 22): I still am of the opinion these E190's will move down to GOL and 30 737-800 will move from Gol to Delta. Objectives: Cut GOL capacity and financial obligations during this severe Brazil economic downturn, while using the E190's to maintain frequency. Delta is part owner of GOL and this is a way of supporting them while reducing the need to put in too much more cold hard cash. This may not be announced until after the Olympics, but it would not surprise me to see something very soon. But yes I would see a 6 month phase in for bringing in to Delta 24- 30 737-800 on maybe a 5 year sublease from Gol, and in turn Delta leasing out the 19 E190's to GOL for a similar term. |
Quoting wedgetail737 (Reply 25): Are the C-series aircraft going to replace the 717's? |
Quoting wedgetail737 (Reply 25): Are the C-series aircraft going to replace the 717's? |
Quoting gatibosgru (Reply 35): Are these LR or not? |
Quoting ALFA164 (Reply 26): Quoting wedgetail737 (Reply 25): Are the C-series aircraft going to replace the 717's? Generally, they are supposed to replace the MD88's where less capacity is needed. The A321's will replace MB88's where larger craft are desired. DL has a lot of fleet flexibility, so nothing is necessarily a "1-to-1" replacement. |
Quoting MasseyBrown (Reply 23): Sometimes it just isn't worth it to match the other guy's price - and I'd bet Bombardier made DL a desperation-fueled deal. |
Quoting wedgetail737 (Reply 25): Are the C-series aircraft going to replace the 717's? |
Quoting JetBuddy (Reply 38): I'm starting to wonder if Bombardier didn't offer the same price to UA. They probably learned a lesson. |
Quoting PlanesNTrains (Reply 40): hile competitors like AA have scores of NEO's and MAX's on the way. I wonder if DL will have learned a lesson??? |
Quoting Prost (Reply 43): the middle-cabin lav will surely be appreciated by youse all |
Quoting CRJ900 (Reply 44): The A321 seatmap is out on delta.com. The aft galley is now back on the RH side (the A320 have it the other way around) and the middle-cabin lav will surely be appreciated by youse all |
Quoting UALWN (Reply 47): By the way, are those lavs at the back the mini space-flex lavs? If so, they are really tiny. |
Quoting Sightseer (Reply 48): I believe that is the initial plan. Obviously things can change, but I think at present they are mostly on ATL-FL routes (while the 739s started out primarily on mid-cons). |
