Aer Lingus Returns To LAX May 4th

Direct EI flights to DUB return Wednesday, May 4th using an Airbus A330-200 5-weekly, after cutting the route in November 2008. This will be EI's second US West Coast route, alongside it's daily service to SFO. It will also be in addition to the 3-weekly ET flights from ADD which route through DUB and have local traffic rights.

Wonder if we'll see A332 registration EI-LAX operate the inaugural!  Wink

I'm sure that some of EI's aircraft had US airport registrations, not just EI-LAX. They had EI-ORD and EI-JFK.

EI-DUB (former EI A330, now with Shaheen) served DUB for years. Also EI-JFK and EI-ORD, as noted above.

Don't forget EI-EWR, and they will resume EWR in September.
Types flown: A319, A320, B734, B738, B744, B77W and E195.
Airports flown to/from: DUB, JFK, LGW, LHR, LIS, LTN, PDL, SEN and STN.
Airlines flown with: AA, BA, BD, BE, EI, and FR.
Next flights: W9 LTN - SVG - LTN

This is correct however these aircraft have either moved on to another airline or have since been scrapped. The only current example is EI-LAX, with EI-EWR to follow suit this September when EWR flights resume.

Thanks and that's what I meant. I ran a brief research to find other airlines' aircraft that may have visited their registration but didn't have the ability to check every route an aircraft has flown but there's a fair to good chance that B-HND might have visited HND.

The 15:00 departure time seems awfully late - will this be the last flight of the day from Europe into LAX (although I think the DY flights and the AF flight from CDG continuing to PPT come in later)? I was expecting a similar departure time as SFO around 12:30.

Yes I was looking to book with BA a LHR-LAX trip and I noticed the cheapest flights were with Lingus via Dublin! No thanks!

Why not?

EI offers pre-clearance at DUB, onboard WIFI, excellent premium meals in Y, comfortable A330 layout

With BA you have the stress of LHR and the risk of getting one of the aircraft with the ancient BA interior from the year 2000.

However with BA the standard Y meals are generally better than EI and they offer free alcohol too, which may be a deciding point for some!

Or

be sensible and get the flights ex-LHR to LAX or the TCX ones ex-MAN to LAX (noticed how under reported that is. Nearly 300 pax outbound on its inaugural a couple of days ago). Anyone got the figures for the EI service?

Have you any statistics to back up a tendancy for EI to encounter "unforeseen events"?
EI have been operating a mini hub through DUB over the last 4-5 years with double daily deprtures to JFK/ORD/BOS that are being fed from its shorthaul network. They are operating with a very healthy loadfactor and profit margin and have an above industry average dispatch rate and aircraft block hours per day.
Their annual reports from 2011-2015 back this up.

If you dont like the stop in DUB, then say it,
if you dont like the product then say it,
if you prefer VS or BA, then say it,
if you want to queue for immigration at the other end, then say it.
Just dont be making random crap up.
