Is it a direct replacement of the A340? If that is the case, SXM will be served by two 787 aircraft and potentially an a350 by Air Caraibes. Now only if we knew what KLM is going to replace the 744 with, I am going to try an get a few more flights on the 744 before they leave the fleet.

As much as everyone hates the AF livery for being boring, I think its quite classy. It has been the first few Eurowhites and is a classic like LH. It won't look better than KL's but it will be a very pretty aircraft.

Any idea on the types of seats being fitted? Will it be the Zodiac Cirrus or a newer version?

Agreed. It was the first of the Eurowhites, and the livery was a fresh approach at the time. Then came more Eurowhite, Ameriwhite, Latinwhite, Asiawhite, UKwhite, everywhere a white white.

If they can somehow manage to keep them clean, yes.

I think nothing has been confirmed yet on seats. Would love to see a slight update of the ZodiacCirrus or even something from B/E, why not

Yes, all of AF's 787s are for the -9. AF/KL do not have any -8s on order (KL has a half dozen -10s on order).

So far the AF-KLM board of directors has formally signed off on accepting only the first two aircraft in the order, and even then the vote was not unanimous. The three directors selected by the French government and one of the independent directors voted against the induction of the first two aircraft.

When the aircraft were ordered, management said the growth of the company and the arrival of new aircraft was conditioned upon reaching another agreement with the unions over further cost cuts and productivity increases (the Perform 2020 plan). The four directors want management to hold firm and not accept the 787s until all unions have signed on to the new plan.

They did not change their mind after management explained the cost of delaying deliveries and the lost efficiency gains, but sources say the rest of the board asked management to use the first two 787s to replace existing aircraft, not to grow the fleet.
