Sorry if this question has been posted before, but, are the repainted US birds in AA colors sporting any signage stating "Operated by US Airways" or something to that effect? I looked through the database of the 4 A319s that have been painted and I don't see anything on the fuselage. Have they posted it elsewhere on the planes? Isn't it a requirement since they don't have a SOC yet?

They've placed a small US Flag logo on the nose gear doors

and a small " OPERATED BY US AIRWAYS" decal by the L1 doors

The decals are just visible if you look closely on this image of N703UW:

Wingtips56 is right. Fantastic update as always. But if you permit I will just make one comment: now that all 47 777-200s are painted, you don't have to list each one of them anymore. None will be added and none will be phased out in the near future. You can just say "Boeing 777-200 (47/47)" and move to the next aircraft. That'll make your work less tedious and it'll save space on your posts.

Now, tomorrow if something happens and one of them is written off, then yes you can provide us with the full list. But as long as nothing more happens with the 777-200 fleet, no need to spend extra time and energy on that.

Keep up the good work my friend !

N836NN flew today from ORD to GUS for painting as AAL9649.

N835NN seems to be back in service

Also for eagle N520DC is in OKC since yesterday and N504AE is back in service!

I'll just add that I'd like to continue to see the full list for the 772s remain.

Heck you can say the same thing about consolidating all the ERJ-175s, A319s, A321s, 77Ws too and IMHO I think that would make for a rather boring and less useful list/thread

Hi guys, I've just been looking at some pictures of N350AN (B767-300ER) and I've realised that it has the old winglets but new livery

It had winglets fitted last month but was repainted before that as you can see in this image

N378AN has the current livery on the winglets as they were added back in 2012, so way before it was repainted

http://img.planespotters.net/photo/411000/original/N378AN-American-Airlines-Boeing-767-300_PlanespottersNet_411461.jpg

So I was wondering why would their winglets still be in the old livery, even over a year since the first 767 was repainted?

Aeroclassics just released the A330-300( I know it says A330-200 but that's a mistake ) in AA colors . N278AY. In 1:400 scale . For those who collect model airliners like me. You can get them at eztoys.com

Just an FYI - I got mine today in the mail. It is N288AY, which is an A332.

How easy is it to paint the winglets in the grey colour? Does it require the aircraft to be taken out of service for a day or so or could it be done within a few hours?

I would guess they may try to keep a new livery plane on the MIA routes, starting May 1st there is no longer a distinct division between West and East flight numbers and the 319s/321s (excluding EOW 319s) will also be "crossfleeted between the two pilot groups

Yes me too. I flew through CLT a week ago. I don't recall which concourse it was, but I do remember seeing an A319 in the new colors squeezed in between all the other US planes. I had to walk from Concourse E (where the US Express flights come in) to Concourse B. I also saw a painted A319 in LGA in the US terminal.

The four original US Star Alliance birds were the first to be repainted, and they operate through CLT frequently. We also get the occasional AA 319 - distinctive by its winglets - into CLT from time to time. The AA operations still work out of Concourse A.

I doubt it. MIA, being an LAA hub, always sees plenty of aircraft in the new livery. I don't think color scheme is a very important consideration when routing aircraft.

Somebody might double-check 3ER for new paint. I saw her @ DCA earlier this week. I couldn't get a good read on the reg or the fleet number. I could only read the fleet number on the nose gear at an odd angle.

Actually, it's more than from time to time, 3 daily DFW-CLT are operated by AA with an A319, and a 4th frequency will be added in May replacing a S80.

Why would they waste all that paint knowing full well that they'll have to repaint it in the foreseeable future?

Only guess I can make is that they didn't have the templates or whatever they need ready in time. But wow...poor planning on someone's part.

So sadly we will have to wait for a A330 in the American Airlines livery, but I think it is going to look great. The livery has really grown on me and will be awesome on the A330.

Somebody might double-check 3ER for new paint

Thanks I added it.

I continued to display the entire list even though all of each of some types are completely painted. Instead of displaying A321T (14/14) I like the idea of displaying each registration. I know there has been some suggestion to just display it without each aircraft being listed. If there is some reason I should not continue this way please let me know. Thanks

dtw757,
It's your Thread, I think your well within your rights to display the Reg #'s however you see fit.
Once again thanks for the great work your doing.

It's your thread, dude. While there's nothing wrong with suggestions, ultimately you should display the painted fleet however YOU like it.
Thank you for the time you're dedicating to collect the information. Always look forward to your updates.

Do we know for sure they'll all get painted?

I'm not sure all 58 will, I think 43 at the most would be repainted. Because since half the fleet is set to be retired in the near future, there is no point in investing so much in repainting the whole 763 fleet. The first batch of 15 dates from the late 80s/early 90s, those airplanes are the ones that will be first to leave the fleet, those will leave whenever their next D-Check is due.
Same with the 757 and MD-80 fleets, it is obvious not all of them will be repainted.

Did American by any chance announce how many 763 will get the interior update? Maybe that'll be a good indication how many they'll keep long enough to spend the money for the new paint job.

Nope, US Airways ordered 15 A330-200s and after N293AY is delivered, then there will be 15 A330-243s out of 15 orders. Also, US Airways says they would rap up A330 deliveries in 2014. So N293AY is thelast US A330 to be delivered, think about it logically, although you may think 11 aircraft with the registrations, N279AY through N290AY, there are in fact 12 aircraft. So N293AY will be the 15 A330-243.

With USs current heavy lift profile being completed, do we expect to see any retirements of the 762s any time soon? Took one from SJU to CLT last month and I thought I was in 1990 for a second.

There is a missing US 319 N809AW Ship 809. It was the second former West 319 to be painted

I don't know, but I would assume at least half the fleet.

And there are now only 2 PMAA762s left, flying only JFK-LAX-JFK, the last one leaves in less than two weeks from now. Those date from the 80s! After this, the AA/US combined fleet will be left with 7 762s. JFK-LAX-JFK will be all 32B and JFK-SFO-JFK will be mostly 32B with only one 763 daily in each direction, for another two more months or so, then JFK-SFO-JFK will also be all 32B.

N817NN 3ET is shown by Flightaware as having flown to Grissom on March 4, and returned to service March 13. I have not found any photographs to confirm its colors, but mostly likely it was repainted then.

When are AAs (not those ordered by US Airways) non-transcon A321s supposed to begin arriving? I thought they were also to receive some in 2014.
