New Alitalia Uniform

Wed May 18, 2016 12:12 pm

Continued reinvention of the Alitalia brand; new uniforms with a very strong EY influence.

Sorta classy- Whilst a fan of the EY At first uniform the red and green for an Italian carrier is too cliched, but then it's also their branding so hard to avoid- but overall well done.

Overall seems very elegant, and nice colors. My only dislike is the combination of said colors in one of the variations... red skirt and green tights. That poor woman looks like a lit up Christmas tree. Everything else looks solid.

I really don't care as the AlItalia FAs are some of ... the most attractive ... I have seen.

Alitalia is an airline I have a soft spot for. Traditionally a basket case of an airline, but you gotta love an underdog with style...

I'm a fan of this uniform, when I see this uniform in an airport I will turn my head and admire.

Simply WOW. Have not seen so much elegance in a uniform for a while. Bold, elegant, modern. I love the hat, the burgundy colors, and the print on the shirts. Other than the lovely Etihad uniforms, this is a big change from what is around today.

I am just glad that Alitalia did not commission CINTAS to create this new look.

This uniform - especially the color - is very similar to QR.

Good thing. If it had been yet another semi-military thing in navy or grey we all would have been so very bored.

Hope their crews like them. I do.

Bravo. Like the slightly retro feel. They'll outshine 95% of the passengers, I'd guess.

Very nice, but let's see if those hats and gloves ever get worn. Frequently those "extra touches" are the first thing veteran FAs discard in the name of simplicty. And enforcing standards hasn't exactly been an Alitalia speciality over the years.

Welcome aboard Alitalia Airlines, where it's Christmas every day of the year!

I think it's unfortunate that airlines keep hiring highbrow fashion designers to design their uniforms. There's certainly some cachet involved (especially when you're marketing to business- and first-class passengers who can actually afford that nonsense), but these uniforms just end up looking downright cartoonish and not being very functional. They look like they're going to be another repeat of the infamous DL Richard Tyler dresses--they look fantastic on genetically-blessed FAs who are 5'10" and have a BMI of 18, but on actual human beings they look silly.

Stunning. Absolutely beautiful. Love the hue of the reds and the greens. They match perfectly together.

I found this evolution of Alitalia uniforms article that is recent. I loved the pin strip 1986 version, but I remember when Georgio Armani did their version and some article jokingly said that the uniforms give off a "Get your own damned pillow" attitude.  http://www.thenational.ae/business/a...-of-alitalia-uniforms--in-pictures

So I guess your comment means it is Christmas every day of the year in Mexico and Italy too because of their flag. Nice Uniforms...if only the U.S. Carriers and the unions (you AFA) could figure out that UNI = of one and form means...well uniform. Its not Multi-form or Poly-form for a reason. But I guess with U.S. laws and mommy state unions you couldn't enforce a fit it or quit it policy.

Nicely done for both women and men, I just can't see those green or red tights on the women uniforms...reminds me of Austrlan...
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today...it's already tomorrow in Australia!

Any idea who wears which uniforms? Green for groundstaff, red for cabin crew?

I like the hats wonder when they will be worn? Like QF individual preference (which seems to be never). Like NZ for cabin crew only when moving to and from the aircraft? Or like EY always for groundstaff and cabin crew, except wen in the air?
