As everyone knows, for the first few years Pan Am's flying boats to Hawaii left from Alameda. Where?
This Aug 1939 pic doesn't show all of Alameda, but you'd think PA would show.

First B314 trip from SF with paying passengers was late March 1939. The April 1939 OAG says PA flights left from Alameda; the May 1939 says Treasure Island. Did a few B314 trips really leave from Alameda, or was the April OAG just not up to date?

From the west end of Alameda Island...what later became NAS Alameda.
