Quoting MIflyer12 (Reply 2): What EDI destination traffic they might find will be thin and seasonal. If they want to move large numbers of people year-round they need to serve LON, PAR, FRA and/or AMS. |

Quoting winGl3t (Reply 7): They could fly EDI-USA during Summer and EDI-Caribbean/CPT/BKK during winter. |
Quoting rutankrd (Reply 3): Crap and nonsense ! Europe is far more than the so called golden triangle . Norwegian are primarily Point to point and right now the likes of Edinburgh/Manchester/Birmingham/Cork/Barcelona and their home turf are where they will win rather than ......../,,,,,,,/and ......... where the Three alliance Hubs operate. Typical an American advocating the Hub and Spoke model again. |
Quoting MIflyer12 (Reply 10): There aren't enough people in EDI who want to go to the U.S. year-round, and certainly not enough Americans who want to go to EDI year-round, to justify anything like 787 service daily. If its not near-daily it will attract little business travel and avg fares will be low. |

Quoting B747forever (Reply 8): Currently DY only serve the US, Carribean and BKK with their 787s. If and when they decide to expand into Africa, EDI will probably not be among the first to get such service, if at all. With BA ever expanding into South Africa I am surprised DY havent tried their luck yet flying LGW-CPT. |

Quoting MIflyer12 (Reply 10): Tell us about the history of extensive TATL service from Manchester, Birmingham, and Cork will you! |
Quoting by738 (Reply 5): Thin and seasonal is correct, even CO cuts down to less than daily over winter on a lowish config 757. Not sure how a high capacity 787 would fare mid winter. |

Perhaps it's a tad bit better than what you expected. |
Quoting nighthawk (Reply 17): I think Delta flights to New York are also due to continue through the winter |
Quoting jfk777 (Reply 22): A 737 Max is the only way for this to work, a 787 is just too big on a year around basis. |
Quoting LTenEleven (Reply 25): These would presumably be Max-8 routes. |

Quoting Mir (Reply 12): While I agree that EDI can't support year-round service to the US without onward connections |
