B-LRI overtook B-LRG during the assembly process and rolled out earlier, not sure why.

B-LRI does have business class seats BTW, it should enter service very quickly. B-LRG will be delivered without J seats.

Why the inconsistency with these aircraft being delivered with and without J seats?

Thanks, the whole thing with Zodiac is a mess. The next couple will be out of sequence too but it looks like the target for 10 deliveries to CX this year will be achieved, even if not all 10 will be in service by year-end because of the seats.

What do you mean, "real" RTO? Every A350-900 performs a ~ 60-70 kts RTO before making its first flight.

I you refer to the maximum energy RTO, that's not done until the very end of the flight test campaign.

My understanding from the discussion last Friday was, that we were not 100% sure if one of the RTOs from the -1000 were the "normal" one performed before FF.

In addition the maximum energy RTO will not be done in TLS.

It was the same speed as the A350-900s perform. If they go faster, it would be a different kind of RTO.

G'day

MSN 59 F-WMIL, A 350-1000 # 1 has been sneaking around Toulouse airport and done a few RTO runs too in the past few days, so its first flight should be expected any time soon. With the weather clearly not cooperating as visible in the pics above and forecast to stay like that in the coming days a first flight is not imminent. Next Tuesday likely is the next opportunity with clear skies predicted and wind from WNW, allowing takeoff on runway 32L as required since overflying the city of Toulouse on a first flight is not permitted.

So watch this space 4 days from now

Cheers

I would think that Airbus need a licence to fly the plane, to the best of my knowledge the engines dont have type certification and perhaps that means a different type of licence is required.
Would need an expert in these things which I am certainly not.

But thats my guess why FF has not happened yet.

Not really. The aircraft itself is not certified yet. Any aircraft goes through a certification process, in which a lot of test flights are required, before certification is achieved. Even the route proving flights, towards the end of the certification process, with usually staff - take place before certification is achieved. We shall see FF of the A350-1000 very soon, I expect.

XTF to be delivered this month, XTG to be delivered at the end of the year.

According to latest fleet plan:

- For 2016: 6 deliveries (up to XTG).
- For 2017: 2 deliveries pushed back to 2018 (MSN 139 and 152).
- For 2018: 4 deliveries (including 2 2017 deferrals)
- For 2019: arrival of the A350-1000

I think that this production list is right.
According to wikipedia (I know it is not the best source, but anyway):
The airline [Sichuan Airlines] was established on 19 September 1986, with operations starting 14 July 1988 between Chengdu and Wanzhou. In August 2002 it was reorganised and the Sichuan Airlines Group, which is owned by the provincial government, became the major shareholder (40%). The other shareholders are China Southern Airlines (39%), Shandong Airlines (10%), Shanghai Airlines (10%) and Gingko Restaurant Co.(1%).

IMO, China Southern ordered these A350s for Sichuan Airlines. If that is the case, @A350Blog could be wrong. CSN has just ordered several B787-9; it would make no sense for them to buy (only!) four A350s for their own fleet.
We may see an official confirmation when the frame is delivered.

There is no customer for MSN 52, at least not officially confirmed. Airbus will just deliver the airframe to the lessor, even if the lessor does not have a customer.

Sichuan Airlines did sign a LOI with AerCap and ALC for the lease of 4 A350s in 2017. So the rumor lives that Sichuan will take MSN 52, 55, 60 and 171.

MSN 59 - the -1000 has just had another canter up the runway. FR14 had a peak speed of 96Kts - but I suspect it was probably a bit higher.

I miss Richard's heads up on what was coming next… I see from Starbuck's page that MSN 58 and 64 are to be delivered this week, MSN 52 and 57 next week, then MSN 53 at the end of the month. That will make for six deliveries in november. Anything else? MSN 42, in december? Any more QR in 2016? What else in december?
