Quoting CHA5Departure (Reply 2): I'm quite surprised to learn they did not already fly there, being a Skyteam hub. I see KL has at least daily nonstop service (looks like double daily a couple days a week). Do AM and KL have a JV, or just the standard Skyteam partnership benefits? |
Quoting mugler (Reply 1): I wonder what their next destinations will be in the future. Will they ever fly to ICN? |

Quoting mugler (Reply 1): I wonder what their next destinations will be in the future. Will they ever fly to ICN? |
Quoting LatinPlane (Reply 4): I really think ICN is the right move. In Europe, I really see FRA due to the huge demand of business travel between Germany and Mexico. BCN performed well for them in the past in terms of passenger numbers, but even with an 85% load factor it still lost money for the airline because they couldn't fill up the business class seats. |
Quoting factsonly (Reply 5): There is plenty of room for further cooperation with KLM to lots of regional European destinations |
Quoting mugler (Reply 1): I wonder what their next destinations will be in the future. Will they ever fly to ICN? |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 8): The first 787-9 comes as a replacement of the first Boeing 777, N776AM which will be stopped by the end of October of 2016. So long haul fleet by winter will be +2. |
Quoting adriaticus (Reply 9): I believe FRA should be started NOW before DLH sends its Airbus 380. There's no way to loose even without connections. AM has flown before with Boeing 767's and TAESA did so with Boeing 767. A 787 operation would be a total success. An entrance to FRA would be something similar to LHR. It's time to give them competition! |
Quoting osteogenesis (Reply 10): What I would love the most would be a GDL-Europe connection. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 8): I would like to see AM starting CUN-MAD, CUN-CDG, CUN-SCL, CUN-GRU, CUN-AMS and CUN-EZE. |
Quoting wingedtaurus (Reply 11): Speaking of the Americas, I think AM should look at SJU to buckle the Caribbean and they should serve in Bolivia either LPB or VVI (I always thought AM was going to serve GYE than UIO in Ecuador but there you go). |
Quoting wingedtaurus (Reply 11): IB has stated that they have GDL-MAD in the pipeline; I'm not sure any other pairing would work. |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 12): I honestly doubt AM would serve SJU... |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 12): Bolivia is much less likely. How could AM make VVI work if they cannot make GIG work? That is quite the non-starter. |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 12): I honestly doubt AM would serve SJU... |
Quoting AR385 (Reply 14): LAB in its heyday made it work with at IIRC up to 5x. So I suppose a 738 could do the same. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 8): The Boeing 787-8 is the best plane ever made |
Quoting AR385 (Reply 20): Not really. The reason for that was VASP´s mismanagement all around. |
Quoting adriaticus (Reply 9): Hola Ricardo!. Will AM get rid of all T7s or will they be running a mix of 777s and 787s? |
Quoting adriaticus (Reply 9): Nice pic in the Challenger cockpit, BTW! |
Quoting AR385 (Reply 14): LAB in its heyday made it work with at IIRC up to 5x. So I suppose a 738 could do the same. |
Quoting gatibosgru (Reply 19): Definitely one of the best aircrafts for CUN long-haul service, best ever? Debatable. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): Is not that AM doesn't want to fly to Bolivia. They would be flying if it was in the range of the Boeing 737. But placing a Boeing 787-8 is just too much. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): AM could try San Juan Puerto Rico and Varadero. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): As for CUN... so much to fly... |
Quoting wingedtaurus (Reply 23): I read some time ago here that AM was planning a MEX-CCS-MVD. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 24): CUN is already well covered, but AM has the right size aircraft to steal share. But problem for CUN and AM is the terminal. There's no way AM can make a hub there, because there's no terminal exclusive for them or arranged in order to make domestic and international transits. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): N776AM is being retired by the end of September. A new Boeing 787-9 will be come in early October. AM is axing Boeing 787 operation to LAX so maybe that will give them more availability until the first B787-9 starts revenue service. Another new Boeing 787-9 will follow in November and one more B787-9 will be delivered in January of 2017. AFAIK, one more Boeing 777 will be retired by 1Q17. I believe the last two Boeing 777 could be retired by the end of the summer of 2017. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): This is where the Boeing 757 should be flying right now... MEX-YVR MEX-YYC MEX-LAX MEX-ORD MEX-JFK MEX-LIM MEX-VVI MEX-BOG |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): I think many more surprises are ahead in AM. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): would love to see one day soon, AM adding: MEX-TIJ-PEK 3X MEX ICN 5X MEX FRA 7X (before DLH starts sending the Airbus 380 from FRA) MEX BCN (I believe this route will work better now with Boeing 787 rather than the old B767) I don't see GIG returning in the short term, maybe by 2020. BCN should come first. FCO is not an option anymore now that AZ will start serving MEX and having all Etihad's support. |
Quoting wingedtaurus (Reply 23): However it would be interesting to analyze and plan how to connect VVI, ASU and MVD to really have a continental reach. |
Quoting wingedtaurus (Reply 23): Spot on, I think MAD is well covered by UX but LON could easily have an extra flight; the amount of Brits visiting CUN is astounding. |
Quoting wingedtaurus (Reply 23): If IB is thinking GDL-MEX my bet would be for AM to start thinking MTY-MEX. I think MTY is their other hub no? |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 27): I suppose Frida and Diego will be the last two 77Es to leave. The ex-RG birds should be the first to go. |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 27): We all miss the 752s! However, the 737-8MAX are coming and those will have better range than the NG birds now flying many of those missions. |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 27): So, YYC won't happen with oil at current prices, no matter which aircraft type AM has available. |
Quoting EddieDude (Reply 27): DL needs to complete the purchase of the 49% ASAP so they can accelerate AM's growth and improve their short- and medium-haul J-class product and catering. |
Quoting ghost77 (Reply 22): This is where the Boeing 757 should be flying right now... MEX-YVR MEX-YYC MEX-LAX MEX-ORD MEX-JFK MEX-LIM MEX-VVI MEX-BOG No restrictions at all in terms of passengers, cargo, range and cabin comfort. But anyway that's just my arm chair CEO point of view. |

This is correct! That's gonna be the order! And Frida and Diego will go to PIA. They've already been allocated. RG birds who know where they'll end up.
