SQ 777 Under Tow Hits Stationary 777

Right on the rear of the APU. Looks like these two birds will be out of service for a while.

I'd have been suspicious if the 777 it collided into was an Emirates one 

The damage looks pretty nasty!

I find it hard to believe that replacing a tail cone is much of a deal compared to structural damage on the main fuselage or wings for example.

I wonder if the 777-300 is a 773A or a 77W. The 777-200 is most certainly a 772ER.

Word is that it was a 773A (9V-SYL who is in the Star Alliance Livery) and 772 9V-SQJ a derated 772ER that collided. no confirmation yet.

Except the APU is there and the exhaust outlet is through the tailcone.

If these are QF birds, they will be written (in reports) as just scratches.
